Hyeseung Kim
Dodgers sign this guy, all he does is play plus d all over the field, hit over .400 with an OPS close to a thousand while mixing in a stolen base about every 10 at bats. Yet they still can’t find him a full time role?

Uh, he’s a rookie from the KBO. What do you mean he’s never hit like this before? Getting your Asian guys confused?scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑08 Jun 2025 21:46 pm 56 ABs...relax. he's never hit like this before![]()

And in the KBO, a league that stacks up to AA/AAA here, he never hit like this. His stint in AAA this year: .252 .328 .470 .798 in a sample more than twice his MLB sample to date. Scouty isn't wrong, the guy has never hit like this, even against lesser competition.JohnnyMO wrote: ↑08 Jun 2025 21:55 pmUh, he’s a rookie from the KBO. He hit .252 with a .798 ops in AAA in twice as many at bats this year. Perhaps 61 plate appearences is a small sample size. Hes not a .400 hitter.

Re: Hyeseung Kim
He has a .512 BABIP with an 86mph EV, these numbers are quite easy to find on Baseball-Reference if you take like 10 extra seconds to look at his page (it's the 4th table labeled "Advanced Batting").
So basically imagine him with about 200 points less of BA and OBP (His BABIP being at a more reasonable .312), and ask yourself if that still seems like an everyday player.
