Mo may not have been the one to come up with this but technically speaking Mo has final say until we hear otherwise.
So even if it isn't a Mo move, it's a Mo move.

Cerfolio's role has him being pretty hands-on with all levels of the organization, so he would have worked with Plesac throughout his time with the Guardians. Larry Day, the Cardinals' new director of player development, also spent time with Plesac in Cleveland.
Nothing to do with Mo.![]()

Re: Cardinals sign Zach Plesac
Be it Mo or Blum it’s a low risk high return move and potentially gives the staff some depth for the back half.
- if McGreevy needs to take Libby’s spot for and extended period - if they trade Fedde, MIkolas or Matz - they need depth that currently doesn’t seem to exist in Graceffo, Roycroft etc etc to stay competitive.
Seems like Pleasc went south with Cleveland when he had some behavioral issues if I recall correctly- perhaps maturity and mechanical refinement have provided course correction.

Someone posted on X that Plesac has been working with Driveline and has reworked his pitches. He's throwing a kick change now that has been graded as plus in live BP sessions at Driveline. Definitely worth a flyer if just for Memphis depth

Memphis debut today as the starter.
