Unfortunately it shows up most in the post season. The dodgers have made it to the World Series 4 of the last 8 seasons and won 2 of them some would say that’s just (bleep) shoot and theyve just been very very lucky but I think it has to do something with their payroll
'.. but I think it has something to do with their payroll .' You think ? like getting Mookie Betts, Ohtani, Freeman, Yamamoto, on and on $$$$$$$$
I agree that the Dodgers' success is largely due to their ability and willingness to sign top free agents. The Cards' owners have the financial ability to sign top FAs, but will lose out to other teams based on a variety of factors, including willingness.

Note: The list you have includes Betts, whom they acquired in a trade, but they signed him to a 12 yr., $365M contract 4 months later, which was a great move. It leaves off Sasaki, Snell, Glasnow, Tanner Scott, Hyeseong Kim, Michael Conforto, Teoscar Hernández, and more
While they may draft and develop well, let's be frank - it's mostly free agents.

In the '24 WS, there was a "how they were built" for both teams, and the Dodgers had 25 of 45 players on the roster that year acquired via FA, 13 via trades 2 international FAs and 5 drafted (rounded off). The Yankees had - rounded - 6 FA, 20 trade 1 Int'l FA and 19 drafted.
