Could Burly be better overall than Ohtani?
Burly, at 26, has reached the 2.2 innings-pitched threshold and carrying a 0.00 ERA this season. Strikeout rate holding steady under 20%, and lock for utility gold glove. Plenty of sample to draw definitive comclusion. Ohtani - career 3.01 ERA and durability issues and strikes out over 20% of the time, and too lazy to play defense.
No way Cards brass would trade Burly for Ohtani, or any other scrub. Especially with Sagesse, Roby, Church on way. Oli would walk. Discuss

Wow. When you lay it out all logical like that it makes you wonder. And Burley is WAY cheaper on the payroll.CorneliusWolfe wrote: ↑07 Jun 2025 13:45 pm Burly, at 26, has reached the 2.2 innings-pitched threshold and carrying a 0.00 ERA this season. Excellent point on payroll. It would be interesting to see if Burly’s agent would accept an extension with $800 million deferred. Maybe Saggese too. High brass must consider.AZ_Cardsfan wrote: ↑07 Jun 2025 17:57 pmWow. When you lay it out all logical like that it makes you wonder. Simmer down Cranberry. No need for hostility during simple baseball discussion. What do you think about Burly's skills compared to Ohtani?

Not very classy Cranny. Especially not for the guy most known for his lectures on decency.

Why would you post in the thread at all. I won’t hold my breath for an honest answer to that.Cranny wrote: ↑07 Jun 2025 20:48 pmWhy would I discuss an inane topic?CorneliusWolfe wrote: ↑07 Jun 2025 19:55 pmSimmer down Cranberry. Old Cranberry just gets a little wound up. Got me good for posting the day BEFORE Memorial Day for being disrespectful to Veterans. Never mind I served and Father-in-Law and both Grandfathers Vets of foreign wars. Guess he's just more patriotic and decided to put me in my place. Never could get him to stay OT either.
