#5 Overall MLB Draft Picks 2000-2024

Like any draft process, it's a pretty mixed bag when looking back at the results. Let's hope Chaim Bloom and Randy Flores get their guy at 5.

Thanks ! What I was comparing was the pitchers taken vs. position players.

Sure seems like taking a pitcher is a bigger roll of the dice.

A Teixeira, Braun, Posey or Tucker type would certainly work for me 8)

Lots of pressure on these front offices to get it right. It'd be really interesting to compare teams "big boards" of talent evaluation.

So basically a 25% hit rate for AS caliber players. Would be good to keep in mind...

It gives me hope because it looks like that if they avoid drafting pitchers they have a very good chance of hitting well on one. Even weiters was a 4 time all star

Like the others said....HS hitters look safe that high up in the draft.

Willits or Holliday....stars have to align for that to happen, I hope it does
