Where's the power
Obviously it starts with the Cardinals. I look to see who we have moving through the ranks that can hit the ball at the least for .270 clip and with some power. I see we really lack that person in AAA and AA. but then I look at the leagues an I see there is a severe lack of power hitters anywhere. Not one guy is standing out as a "Let's pitch around this guy" player. Is the pitching just better these days? what is causing the lack of power hitters?

Pitching is better, no doubt, but at a cost. These kids play travel ball for years and are taught max effort all the time. It hurts the offensive output but the cost is frequent arm injuries to the kids. If they were trying to pitch like guys used to there would be less injuries but in trying to trick batters instead of overpowering them but there would also be more power hitting. I think I enjoyed the game more when pitchers were using more finesse and less overpowering stuff.

Yes, pitching is very good right now. Everything is high velocity with tons of spin and movement.
