I always thought we got fleeced on that trade given Oshie’s talent, but the player I wanted at the time in return was Vrana

I always thought we got fleeced on that trade given Oshie’s talent, but the player I wanted at the time in return was Vrana

oh there's no doubt Oshie was worth way more than Brouwer and a Phoenix Copley, but if we get someone of equal age and value who knows if we beat Chicago or not. Brouwer was extremely vital to that happening and getting us to the WCF against San Jose. Shame they didn't beat Dallas in the 6 games because that 7th game seemed to have been the part that wore them out.

Yes, getting married and having a kid did wonders for Oshie’s maturity, just as I don’t think it’s a coincidence that we saw growth from Kyrou the season after he got married.

The ONLY non-Blues sweater I own is Oshie's Military Salute Cap's sweater...

Both he and Backes were my Minnesota boys that brought some GREAT hockey back to this organization. It's also ironic that both retired because their bodies simply gave out on them...

Yep. It was a horribly lopsided trade the Blues lost but it was clear one of Oshie or Hitch had to go and it wasn’t going to be Hitch.

Sort of similar to how many years later, one of Oettinger or DeBoer had to go in Dallas but this time the player had a lot more power and it was the coach that was in the wrong.

Loved Osh though. Wish him well in retirement.

I cannot think of any Blue who bled more than those two, and I cannot picture any Blues player leaving his feet to make plays as often or as deftly as #74. My Youngest wore three numbers in his AA Hockey career- #26 for Samuel Påhlsson, #10 for Corey Perry ( he is a SoCal Kid), and he finished his career with #74 for Osh.
