Interesting take, with Misa going first. From a needs perspective, Misa going first and Schaefer going second makes some sense. Blues pick? Certainly wouldn’t hate it, but Aitcheson is another lefty. I doubt he falls to 19, but who knows.

is he a righty or lefty? If another lefty I'd probably pass.

If Aitcheson is on the board at 19 then we want him. He is one of the oldest players in his class but this would be a clear BPA situation at 19, it doesn't matter that he's LD. Between him and Fischer that is one nasty, physical LD that can shoot the puck. At that point I would wonder if we can get some RD out of Lindstein. Lindstein is such a fluid skater in all points of direction and he has a high IQ. if there is a type of defenseman who could play his offside at a high level it's him.

I’d love to have Aitcheson, even with the organizational glut at LD. I see a Barrett Jackman type in him. Won’t be a star but just a nasty d-man that projects to be a likely 2nd pairing guy. That said, I’ll be pretty shocked if he’s still available at 19. I wouldn’t be surprised if he slips into the top-10.

And I’ll be downright shocked if Reschny falls to the 20s…but you never know. Gabe Perreault fell that far although that was admittedly a much stronger draft. But I’d put Reschny’s hockey sense up against anyone in this class. He’s a very smart and crafty player. I’d be mad if we passed on him. I’ve got him in my top-10.

Lindstein played a good amount of RD for Brynas last season. Not so much this season though. Probably either because the ask would’ve been bigger this season with the promotion up to the SHL but also because one of their big adds was RD Victor Soderstrom. But he can play RD is I guess my point. That said, I’d prefer to try to develop him on the left side. If we do somehow end up with all 3 of those LDs (along with Burns, Ralph and others) then I’d probably look to trade 1-2 of them than convert some to RD…but it is a viable option I’ll have to admit.

That said, Aitcheson falling that far just isn’t happening IMO.

I don't really want to have to try to spell that all the time.

I will spell A-I-T-C-H and I-E-T-R and O-U-W-M all day long if they're a top 4 quality defenseman!

(O-L-A-I-A-C not so much)

Fine. We’ll draft one of Brzustewicz or Boumedienne then.

If Aitcheson is not the guy-(because hes not available)-then perhaps Malcolm Spence. Good write up.

since "aitchoo' is a sneeze he really ought to be called Sneezy. Then we'd have Snuggy and Sneezy. 28% of the way to an alt-7-dwarfs
