The Calum Ritchie hattrick?
Re: Brock Nelson resigns with Lanche
To be fair on this one it was a pretty terrible trade.

Re: Brock Nelson resigns with Lanche
If the Avs traded this kid and the rest of the haul does that give us an indication how the Avs felt about Ritchie, is he not close? If Ritchie was somehow not miss and ready wouldnt the Avs just held on to him and possible inserted him into a center spot next year? Nelson is a decent NHL vet center for sure but that was quite a haul to give up

That doofus isn't just Smelling like the stupidest poster of all time. He also is unaware of these 2nd Line Centermen:Frank Underwood wrote: ↑04 Jun 2025 11:24 amI’m referring to Smelly’s insistence that Calum Ritchie is the most highly coveted 2nd line center in the history of the world.Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑04 Jun 2025 11:12 amI must have missed something here...Frank Underwood wrote: ↑04 Jun 2025 10:55 am Love him or hate him, I almost feel like the Avs had to sign him after giving up so much to get him……including the greatest 2nd line center in the history of the NHL.![]()
A very good prospect for sure, but probably a little hyperbolic to anoint him the next coming of Mark Messier!
Henri Richard (Jean Beliveau)
Peter Forsberg (Joe Sakic)
Evgeni Malkin (Sidney Crosby)
Sergei Fedorov (Steve Yzerman)

They are also saying if he isn't the NHL next season he's never going to be.

Maybe, I don't know what they were thinking but on the surface its pretty terrible.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑04 Jun 2025 14:49 pmIf the Avs traded this kid and the rest of the haul does that give us an indication how the Avs felt about Ritchie, is he not close? I'd say more than likely they overestimated themselves and thought they had a better chance to win it all than they really did.

bad deal, and lanche are already up against the cap, and still have other to resign.
and it hurt mid market teams for even the lower tier centers. lower tier centers will rejoice, brough price of centers up, and price for centers on trade marklet up

Few players excite me less than Brock Nelson. Really happy the Avs are doing this

Re: Brock Nelson resigns with Lanche
Brock Nelson is a fine player and I would have been quite happy to have him for the next couple years for sure. He would make our team better. But $7.5 for three years is a lot of scratch for him
. Yikes.
Also - I am laughing my a** off at some of the Calum Ritchie commentary in here. That post was a gift that keeps on giving.
