His son Stan (Stanley Glen Bowman, named for the Cup and for Mister Goalie, though Scotty admits he and Suella botched the spelling) invited Dad to join him tonight, since Stan is the GM of the Oilers. On the way there Scotty, 91, and Stan dropped by to see an old, dear friend in Stony Plain, Alberta: Glenn Hall, 92.
My god, to have been in that room!
In recent years Scotty and Suella lived in Siesta Bay near Sarasota FL, and he often visited and advised on Tampa Bay Lightning games. Now they live half the year in Buffalo.
And yes, before you old farts ask: Glenn did finally get that (bleep) barn painted.
Scotty Bowman will be at Game One tonight
