Yea, he’s going through a funk right now. Happens to every player.

April 21st-May 25: .308/.379/.407 105 PAs
May 26-now: 1 for 21 9 K’s

Maybe a day of rest would help, but he’d still be my main starter in CF.

Defense is still very good. Maybe playing Barrero in CF against the next lefty starter would be a good move.

Could just be an adjustment phase.

I would like to see Noot in CF one day a week. When Walker gets back I would like to see our bench used more/the regular starters get more days off.

Agreed HCF

Maybe more of a mental break than then the need for a physical break.

Let the kid catch his breathe, watch some film and get in the cage w/B. Brown.

These days. These days I sit and think about the things I used to do; for you. And all the times I had too.

Part of the reset is the strength and endurance assessment. We are only 3/8 of the way and no heat.

Predictable that a rookie is going to break down at times during his first season of playing every day.

Feeling his way around the mental as well as physical grind of a 162-game season playing a demanding position.

This is why If you do have a good defensive CF'er fielder who slumps at the plate you have to have corner OF'ers who can slug.

The Cardinals don't and haven't for several years. Therein lies the issue.

Yep

His energy level is fine, that catch last night was sick!

Why I said he needed a "mental" rather than physical break.

Scott and Hererra are in a similar place.
If you watch them in the box, they are no longer the cool, relaxed batters they were.
They are jumpy, edgy, moving around. The look of confidence so apparent in May is waning.
That is sign of discomfort and losing your mojo.
It should return.

Let him continue to play and work through it. He should get at min 500 PA's this season.

Witt Jr. made a tremendous play on him last night or would have been at least one hit. I know people are playing more in the field, but can remember last time Scott laid down a bunt to attempt to get a single?
