I think it's weird to be this upset about a batting order, but here we are.
Batting order has always played a role in baseball, so I think it’s crazy to not at least have some thought about it.

And Arenado has a .735 OPS over his last 1477 MLB PAs and .707 OPS over his last 865 PAs. How is that the guy that you want hitting 4th?
I guess we will never know. We were hot and now we aren't. It was more not to screw with what was working, which was Contreras and Herrera doing well in limited time. Contreras wasn't hitting well at 2nd or 3rd (if I recall correctly). Slumps and streaks happen, even for Arenado.

How are we still not “hot”? We are 6-4 in our last 10. That’s a .600 winning%. We lost a series, omg it’s the end of the world!

Arenado has been in a 2 year slump. At some point it’s not a slump, but a reality. We are better with him hitting 6th than we are with him hitting 4th.

Contreras is 17th unluckiest hitter in all of baseball as of 5/31... subtracting wOBA from xwOBA.

Cardinals collectively have a good enough starting staff with adequate reserves in Memphis. Cardinals have above average defense. Cardinals do not have a power hitter. Both Arenado and Goldy provided that in years past. Now they rest on Contreras, Noot, Burly or Donovan…..not a 25 homer guy in the bunch.
