We can move in from him. Not a good fit based on term and dollars. Build from within. Or trade multiple prospects for other young players. I’d like him but do t think it’s logical.
Re: Blues Top Free Agent Target Should Be Panthers Center, Only At The Right Price
I think if they win a 2nd Cup his price will skyrocket out of the Blues range and that will most likely be for the best.
I like him but not at those prices.

I think he stays in Florida, he'd be crazy not to.
There are going to be 31 other teams throwing cash at him, but he won't find a better fit than the one he is in.

Chasing money can become more important pretty quick after possibly back to back cups. Hes taking the moneyLuvthaBlues wrote: ↑03 Jun 2025 07:57 am I think he stays in Florida, he'd be crazy not to.

Flames are still the biggest dummies of them all for misusing Bennett when they had him. Inexcusable.

Sam Bennet is a good player, hes a gritty guy on a good team. Bennet is a 40-50 pt player and hes been decent in the postseason (very good this season) so paying him $10 million ish should not be something that Army considers at this point. Thats Schenn level production we already have that player in place for a very reasonable contract and Schenn is very well respected by the team and organization. Surely someone will overpay for Bennet good for him but it wont be the Blues. All the Blues need is to find a good versatile 3rd center

This ^. Schenn might not be the best 2C, but that line (with Kyrou & Holloway) was one of the best 2nd lines in the whole league the last quarter/third of last season. I think the Blues are looking more for 3rd center as well, someone who can elevate the offensive potential in Neighbours & Bolduc, someone to fill the gap until Dvorsky is ready to be an NHL center.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑03 Jun 2025 08:27 am Sam Bennet is a good player, hes a gritty guy on a good team. Love Scheen but there are a lot of players that could look great centering Holloway and a locked in Kyrou. The playoff showed what Scheen looks like without Holloway and the opposite of a locked in Kyrou and it wasn’t pretty.stlblues1979 wrote: ↑03 Jun 2025 08:59 amThis ^. That being said, since there are so few FA options out there, the Blues will probably target the best available 3C than 2C

Totally agree I looked thru the list of the lower tier UFA centers guys like Dvorak, Kuraly, Roslovic, Frederic, Donato on the longer side maybe Geekie maybe Granlund but i still those two get paid. I honestly dont have the scouting knowledge to know which UFA potential 3C would fit, speed, some skill, two way, FO % but i trust Army and co. will know. It could actually be a big upgrade and I love Sunny but in no way can Sunny maximize Bolduc and Neighbours potential at this stage.stlblues1979 wrote: ↑03 Jun 2025 08:59 amThis ^. Buch Thomas Snuggerud
Holloway Schenn Kyrou
Neighbours UFA Bolduc
Walker Faksa Torpo/Sunny then Dvorsky
Fowler CP
Broberg Faulk
Tucker Kessel/Leddy UFA
Binnie
Hofer
I think thats a really good hockey team, best line up the Blues have put out in a while. With a full training camp of Monte and continued growth of the younger guys we are in store for a good season in 25-26

We already have our Bennett and it is Schenn.
I want no part of him at the prices everyone is talking about. Bad on faceoffs and not especially great offensively.
Yes he mucks it up but so does Schenn. They are basically the same player that everyone has been trying to get rid of for 2-3 years.
Just say no

What a ridiculous filler piece by Lou Korac.
"This is the right player, and only if we could get him at a 35% discount then I'm in!"
a complete waste of time

Re: Blues Top Free Agent Target Should Be Panthers Center, Only At The Right Price
I would rather sign Marner for $18m/year than give Sam Bennett $10m/year
Re: Blues Top Free Agent Target Should Be Panthers Center, Only At The Right Price
That would be "ok" but there is really no reason at all for that to be plan A. I mean sure we may have to settle for a solid 3c and that would be a step forward but I have no idea why that would be your plan.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑03 Jun 2025 10:02 amTotally agree I looked thru the list of the lower tier UFA centers guys like Dvorak, Kuraly, Roslovic, Frederic, Donato on the longer side maybe Geekie maybe Granlund but i still those two get paid. Re: Blues Top Free Agent Target Should Be Panthers Center, Only At The Right Price
Because Schenn is already here, signed and the line with Holloway and Kyrou was very good so why mess with it. Also i dont feel like a Schenn upgrade is realistic as far as big UFA signings. Army will most likely pull off something that none of us see coming, a trade that we cannot forecast but until i see otherwise and i see the current Blues cap space its hard for me to imagine that a new 2nd center is coming. I see an upgrade in Sunnys spot to be most realisticskilles wrote: ↑03 Jun 2025 12:01 pmThat would be "ok" but there is really no reason at all for that to be plan A. I'm not one of the bring back old Blues guys just because, but I mentioned bringing back ROR is a much better option. And if the Golden Showers need to trim payroll to make a run at Marner (because all that glitters is gold), Barby at $5 mil would be smarter as well. There must be others like that too.
