FWIW i don't see the major issue with this deal. I think it's proof that the blues are going to likely have to pursue trade targets over UFA diving, even moreso because of how much cap they realistically will have to play with in order to sign a replacement to some of their defensive core here in the next 2 seasons and also gameplan a bit for some of the incoming RFA-to-be guys. I'm not expecting a massive move.

Totally agree, especially with Holloway. If he is not signed before the end of this coming season & has another year like last year, it could cost the Blues a couple of million a year on a long term contract. If he has complete medical clearance this summer & looks good in camp & in pre-season, I offer him 8 years @ 7 million. Otherwise, you may be looking at 8 @ 9 million in next year's off-season.
