You need to take in less fluids before your bedtime so that your diaper doesn't fill up and wake you up so early to start your stupid posting. Try taking your thumb out and put it in your mouth instead well before you get tucked in.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑30 May 2025 06:30 am Repeat of last year....
Both teams have 2 long-time TOP5 NHL Draft picks in their lineup--that they selected.
Douglas Army hasn't stocked the Blues with any TOP5 picks. The last time that we had a TOP5 was 2019. What happened that year?

As I asked you a couple days ago. What trade(s) are you looking to make to get the Blues in the top five? Instead of posting the same thing over and over again, answer how you propose getting the pick.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑30 May 2025 06:30 am Repeat of last year....

I like tacos, but I'd be thinking about burritos while I eat them.

Im not sure how best for the Blues to go about it. Im 100% certain that Army knows how to do it. He certainly knows how not to do it. Army should study how all of the playoff teams accomplished it if he needs some ideas.Stlcardsblues wrote: ↑31 May 2025 23:47 pmAs I asked you a couple days ago. As difficult as it seems… It is 1/8 the difficulty of winning the Cup without top5 talent.

So you keep reposting the same thing over and over again with no idea how they should accomplish it. Seems like an odd topic when you can’t give a path to make it happen.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑01 Jun 2025 10:37 amIm not sure how best for the Blues to go about it. Well we know that having Brett Hull and Wayne Gretzky on the same team doesn't work. But I'm sure at least both of them like Tacos.

You write down the path to a Cup that you want to take. I need clarity. When done, substitute the words “top5 pick” for “trade for Gretzky”. Then you will have my plan.
Then tell me which is easier. Young Gretzky is available or Top 5 pick.

Continue to build around the young strong core we have here. Add a top center this offseason. Determine which prospects are being added in and which can be flipped to strengthen the roster.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑01 Jun 2025 19:41 pmLets try this. Another big thing is Monty has an entire off season to correct the end of game issues. That needs to be fixed.
This team is closer to elite than you will give them credit for, they are not there yet, but can get there without tanking for a top five pick.

I have to say. I love your spirit, confidence and fight. You are alright. The Blues are lucky to have you as a fan. I think that the only difference between you and I is that I want the Blues to have a killer talent on the ice along with all the other pieces, and I dont see any way to obtain that other than a top5 pick. 90%+ of the teams that we will face in the playoffs will have at least one.Stlcardsblues wrote: ↑01 Jun 2025 20:20 pmContinue to build around the young strong core we have here. Back in July if I said the Blues would offer sheer Broberg and Holloway everyone would have said it would never happen. This team took the step it needed to this year. Now it’s on Armstrong to dig in and bring this roster to the next level.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑01 Jun 2025 20:54 pmI have to say. I love your spirit, confidence and fight. You are alright. There is currently no path to a top five pick unless you trade for it. If the player is available and fits the needs Armstrong will try to make it happen. Many top five picks flop. It’s not a guarantee of success.
I am more concerned on how the pieces we sign or trade for fit the puzzle to take this team to the next level than what position in the draft they were taken.

Excellent post. Shows the difference between a fan of the team and a fan of the draft. Re: Another TOP5 Stanley Cup Final
The Blues have several Top 10 caliber level players they are currently building around and it began to show this season as the Blues narrowly lost to the Pres Trophy team with a young squad.
2009 - Schenn (5th) 6th in draft class in Points
2012 - Parayko (86th) 14th in draft class in Points
2016 - Kyrou (35th) 9th in draft class in Points
2017 - Thomas (20th) 4th in draft class in Points
2018 - Hofer (107th) 3rd in draft class in Goalie Wins/2nd in Save Pct
2020 - Neighbours (26th) 8th in draft class in Goals
2021 - Bolduc (17th) 10th in draft class in Goals
I'll keep posting it and saying it over and over again. The Top 5 pick nonsense is just that, a worthless debate. It doesn't matter where you draft largely what matters more is having a successful amateur and development department. In 25-26 Blues fans will see the ascension of Neighbours, Bolduc, Snuggerud, Broberg, Holloway and the continued dominance of Thomas and Kyrou. None of which were drafted Top 5. Drafting kids with the right mentality, drive, size, speed and skill is why this era of Blues hockey will be so exciting.
