Pages does a really nice job handling the pitchers and he's above average gunning down runners if they give him a chance

BUT

he can't hit:

Would have liked to have seen Pozo in there today.
Need all the bats you can against DeGrom.

DeGrom knows when to nibble and when to attack. He knew Pages was a cripple. He just stuffed him without strain.

That is what we wanted to happen. Not sure about you, but unfortunately, what actually happened was what I expected.

Fortunately we've got a plethora of young catchers in the pipeline, some of which could be really good!

Tough to have everything. If you can handle pitchers, ability to gun runners down , and hit too and you have an All Star catcher year after year.
Doing two of those three is pretty good for the toughest position to play in baseball.

Very true and I’m excited about their depth!
Now....with that depth it figures that they trade from that depth.
Who do you deal and who do you keep?

No one said we had to have another JB, those don't exist.

Pages does do a good job handling the staff and gunning down runners at an above average rate as I originally stated.

And just like that he picks off Siemien!

But he's a huge liability at the plate, I think he'll get ousted by one of the kid catchers possibly as early as next year.
