Sonny Gray mental game

Post by ramfandan »

Sonny sure has a different mindset when analyzing his game. I find him interesting in postgame interviews as he sure is in different zone than most pitchers I here.
He seems to probably be a perfectionist type possibly and always tweaking, fine-tuning his pitches and approach.
Very choppy in putting his thoughts into words .
Always have liked his competitiveness .

Rubs his face a lot. It’s like a verbal pause almost while he collects his thoughts. Or he’s counting to ten and not answering “really? Again with the same stupid question?”

Good point ! I have noticed he speaks in a lot of generalities . Like most players, he will not divulge a specific thing he changed in his approach. The guys want to keep that under their hat so other teams can't look for some specific pattern in a future game. He will answer some questions with ' I worked on some things ..' Changed some things in how I approached their lineup ... answers like that .
