During the years that "M*A*S*H" ran in prime time I could never watch because I always worked nights and weekends. Then when I finally bought my first VCR --- a 2-head mono unit with a wired remote that cost $600 in October 1982 (so I could tape the Cardinals in the World Series) --- I could finally watch, but that (bleep) "M*A*S*H" laugh track drove me nuts.
