Gotta get Contreras going. For the better offensive production potential, Burleson should hit 6 ahead of Arenado vs RHP. IMO But he's OK at 7.

Could be. However, it's obvious, Marmol really likes to have Burly somewhere in the lineup vs RHP.

The whole show casing line is very overplayed by fans. Are we show casing winn? Scott? Liberatore? Most the time guys are played because of contractual obligations, evaluation for future, or they just give best chance to win. Sometimes a guy they might consider trading may also be under their own evaluation process or prese tky give them best chance to win. Its far more likely even if they trade burly that they were playing to evaluate whether they should keep rather than showcasing.

Maybe Gorman should be get a little playing time versus a right handed over NA? I know NA hitting a bit better as of now but NG needs more than 3-4 at bats a week to see where he’s at. Heck if WC ain’t hitting let him play 1B on a rare occasion. He’s played a few innings there this season. Just need to squeeze in more at bats for him. Walker is coming around, just give NG the chance to do so as well.

A guy named Ike will be along soon to tell you how DARE you even talk about sitting a player as great as NA.gashouse59 wrote: ↑30 May 2025 15:56 pm Maybe Gorman should be get a little playing time versus a right handed over NA? No, hes hitting .298/.343/.443 vs RH pitching this year. Easy move. Like I said, they are platooning Burleson and Walker.
Burelson isnt going anywhere, he is clearly a favorite amongst Cards brass

At this point I think you have to think about sending him down. The ABs just aren't there for him. Not when Burleson is hitting the way he has been. Oli was quoted saying basically the same thing about playing time for Walker, Burleson, and Gorman. And I think he's done okay balancing Walker and Burleson, but the ABs just aren't there for Gorman. And I get it that it's a "runway" season, or whatever we're calling it now, but what is the point of him riding the bench right now?gashouse59 wrote: ↑30 May 2025 15:56 pm Maybe Gorman should be get a little playing time versus a right handed over NA? Although I can understand the argument against the the level of pitching at AAA isn't going to be up to the same level, so maybe it wouldn't be that helpful to send him down. If that's the case, I think you just have to deal with it and Gorman has to learn to be a bench bat.

I would just hate for the Cards to give up on him and trade him to somebody like the Yankees who are actually in need of a 3B for a AA reliever who is out of baseball in a couple of years. Meanwhile the Yankee hitting coach tweaks NG swing and he’s hitting 40hr and driving in 100 runs with that short RF at Yankee stadium. Cards should have sat NA down before the season even started an explained to him come hail or high water NG is gonna get at least 1/3 of your at bats at 3B.Ronnie Dobbs wrote: ↑30 May 2025 16:24 pmAt this point I think you have to think about sending him down. The Cardinals could sure use more power from Contreras, Arenado, Burleson, Walker and Gorman. All are capable of more power production.

I guess this is going to be the GDT because this is as close to one we have. I hope Scott can get something going he's been struggling lately.
