Can the Reds bullpen hold the Cubs?

Post by Futuregm2 »

Reds have hit 3 HRs today and are up 6-0 in the 6th at Wrigley. But we’ve seen this movie before 2 times in their last 3 game set.

Hoping the Reds can continue to hold them and get us 0.5 a game closer.

You are right on .. In the previous 3-game series in Cincinnati , the Cubs scored a total of 21 runs in the 7th, 8th, and 9th innings. I remember that fact from watching the Reds postgame show after the final loss. The Reds announcer was shaking his head how the Cubs finished those games.

Won’t need much of the bullpen with the way that Andrew Abbott is throwing for the Reds.

PCA has the sombrero with 3 K’s. He’s struck out 33 times (3 walks) in 101 PA’s in his last 24 games now.

So funny. Abbott leaves after seven and the BP is imploding.

Weren’t these same RedStockings picked by some to win the NLC? A bully only the opponents could love.

Suzuki (.60 above career OPS) and Kelly (.260 above career OPS) will regress.
Hopefully PCA will cool.
This can’t be the best offense in the league. Not sustainable.
But man they are hitting well the first third of the season.

Abbott went 7 today, giving up just a first inning walk and a ground-ball single in the third. The win puts him at 5-0 for the year, 1.51 ERA, 3/1 K/W. Keeper.

I picked them to win the Central last year. Missed it. Went with the Cubs this year. Might miss with them too.

If there's ever a player that deserves every bit of ridicule and mockery he gets it's that little sh*t. In one of those comeback wins against the Reds that he hit 2 home runs, he was flexing like an Australian red kangaroo in the batter's box yelling and screaming and thumping his chest while his HR ball sailed out.

Like, bro, it was the 6th inning and it's the middle of May. Act like you've been there before, not a total doosh.
