Will Schenn trade bring equal to Brock Nelson?

Post by a smell of green grass »

If Schenn is traded, will he bring equal to Brock Nelson? Let's see if Army can bring anything close.

For Brock Nelson, the Islanders recieved
1) Calum Ritchie (a 2023 draft pick that is claimed to be an elite 2-way center)
2) Oliver Kylington,
3) a conditional first pick
4) third-round pick

I can't believe Colorado traded a top 5 pick for Brock Nelson. It's hard to believe that Colorado had a top five pick when you really think about it, isn't it?

Colorado didn't give up a TOP 5. They gave away their first round pick, which is lower than what the Blues have. The biggest thing that Colorado gave away was a star (Ritchie) that the found late in Rd 1 2023. The Blues selected twice before Calum Ritchie was drafted.

Meanwhile, there are people who say that Armstrong can find a star lower in the draft. Just don't ask those people about Armstrong's 2023 draft.

Rewatch Army's end of season presser. You will see that Army is talking about Schenn in "past tense". It's very obvious I think if you have an open mind.
Schenn's interview reveals the same.

When you say things like "Just don't ask those people about Armstrong's 2023 draft" maybe Google before you do that. Bleacher report moved Dalibor Dvorsky up a spot and he hasn't only seen two (2) NHL games.

He's already been traded once. How many elite late first-round picks are there, and how many of those get traded before they make it to the show?

But of course he must be elite, because Army failed to draft him. Or trade for him.

Some random article this Army hater found pumping up Ritchie to justify the trade for the Islanders. This troll thinks Army blew it because he took Otto Stenberg before Ritchie.

Quite the stretch given these prospects have a ways to go in their development. I think the Islanders might regret passing on Lindstein as they could use a defensive player like him in their prospect pool.

Wait, what? So the Isles got nothing for Nelson? Just good deals at the Long Island Goodwill stores on all those Nelson jerseys.

Isn’t that how it goes?

Love Schenn. He's the perfect veteran to lead this group. Provides what we need. Draft picks are a (bleep) shoot. Lets keep the sure thing. We have plenty of "YUTES"

Ritchie is a really good player. I’m still shocked the Av’s gave him up but they truly believed they had a shot at the Cup. Pretty good trade for the Islanders

Armstrong wanted to trade Schenn at the trade deadline. Do you think that that Avs tried to get Schenn first, over Nelson?

I see that the Avs are trying to sign Nelson longer-term now.
