Attendance

Post by Cranny »

Players very much appreciate the support of fans who are in the stands cheering for them. Posters who have played sports at the high school and college level know this. It's one of the reasons why teams play better at home. Hopefully attendance will pick up if the Cardinals continue to play well above .500 baseball.

Cardinals 32-24, 3 games out of first place and 19-8 at home: Averaging 29,444 and down 7,609 per game YOY
Rockies: 9-47, 25 games out of first place and 6-22 at home: Averaging 26,635 and only down 363 per game YOY

Baseball overall is up 436 per game YOY.

We are 13th in average per game, which would be the worst ranking we’ve had in like at least 30 years.

This has as much to do with on field performance as asinine, egotistical and out of touch statements made by management and ownership over the past few years.

So, take it out on the players?

So don’t give money to ownership and find other ways to spend money.

If you went to a restaurant and the owner told you the food sucked but you owe it to them to keep coming back, would you because you owed it to the waitress?

No, it's showing the ownership that they are not an attractive enough option. If it's their lack of enticing players, that's also on management. It's a team game for entertainment. No player is taking it personally.

DBack series had 30K+ crowds.

IF the team remains in contention AND BDWJr spends some money and adds at the deadline, then he might just get close to 2.5M.

Fun team, I've enjoyed every game I've been to this season.

Do the players have attendance provisions in their contracts? BDW is feeling the lost revenue…..simply it will come back if HE shows effort to win. There are some obvious moves he can make to put a better team on field to compete. Just do it. Fans will return. This non-aggressive wait around do nothing attitude we’ve seen has soured many fans

If this were true the home record would reflect that.

You dont care about the players feelings. You only care about how much money Dewitt is making. It’s not even worth it with you trying to know why at this point but just stop trying to convince us otherwise. The fans have earned every right to hold onto their money and keep it away from the front office and they have earned every right to decide for themselves when to open their wallets again.

Sorry. You owe it to Gorman to watch him strikeout in person

+1,000,000 JFC ..this topic has been beaten to death...fans show the FRONT OFFICE that they are (upset) with their [shirt]ty attitude over the last few years...players have to play, regardless how many people show up...I'm in Section 148 and people are sick of front Office (donkey) kissers wanting to make sure DeTwit and Mo-ran get their money...waiting for Tanker the Wanker, a sock, to chime in!

So it's not worth going to watch a team that's 32-24 so far?

I thought the dislike for the front office was because the direction they were going was creating a (bleep) product on the field. Well that currently doesn't seem to be a problem so what's the beef? Now that the team seems to be moving in a positive direction we are going to not attend because of the past. We have had one losing season in the last 17 seasons and we made a 12 victory jump after that season and we seem to be on pace to improve on 2024 this year.

90 percent of the fan base lives far from STL. Me- 800 miles. What are we supposed to do to show fan support in your estimation.
