Is Walker becoming an RBI machine?

It's been a fun 15 or so games to watch Jordan, MdT. He has a LOT of lengthy down swings, though...so I'm eating up this productive binge he's on.

He came into the game batting .289 with a .779 OPS with runners in scoring position at some point you might consider moving him above arenado

I noticed that too, He only trails Donovan by 1 RBI.

To expand on your correct observation about Walker having 1 less RBI than Donovan.
JWalk has done that playing in playing 6 LESS games than Donovan and having 48 LESS at bats . Walker(23 RBI-6th best on team ) has been more productive in RBI than Winn (20) , Scott II (19) , Burleson (16).
Since May 14th, Walker is slashing .344/.344/.531 with a home run, a triple, and two doubles. Six of his 11 hits have been singles.

His defensive play (thanks to fine coaching from Jon Jay) has improved significantly in RF. Also , keep in mind that Walker is also younger than half of the Cardinals Top 10 prospects.

Since his OPS bottomed out on 5/12 at .498, this is his last 13 games:

.333/.351/.528 with 11 RBIs.

Just looking at his game log, mathematically he’s been weighed down by the lack of multi hit games. It’s not that he’s going hitless many games in a row, it’s just that he’s typically only collected one hit at a time.

Now he’s had 3 multi hit games in the last 5, it suddenly looks way better.

I actually think the Cardinals should be an Atlanta Brave move and extend Walker now on the cheap. I think betting on him would be a reasonable risk. 6/48 would be attractive for a 23 year old who's still trying to figure it out, and when he does figure it out you got a key piece locked down at a bargain rate.

Definitely is, I’m hopeful still. I think this is what would have happened last year if they kept him up longer than they did. He’s got the talent.

This type of (small but significant) glimpse into what kind of player he can be is why I just don't get those in CT ready to ship off a just turned 23 yr old last week w/his tools.

I've also noticed he's developing a bit of an edge to him as well, no more "golly gee" looks but rather a "YEA!" let's kick some a z z looks!

Agree on the #7 hole, perfect spot for him to drive in runs yet not a high stress slot in the lineup.

What you’re missing is- this is a sign of a great team- players going into slumps. That means two great things are happening. One, to slump you must be hot, so there’s that. And this great attribute, on this team, when 5 are on their predicted struggles, two carry the team.
