Re: Florida/ Carolina....
2 conference final serieseseses ending after 5 games? The "new" playoff format has pushed all the good matchups into the earlier rounds. Not sure I like it.
Re: Florida/ Carolina....
Say what? Florida ended up with 98 points and Carolina with 99 and in the other Dallas with 106 and Edmonton with 101 points. It is what it is. This is the equivalent of winning a baseball division by 1, 2, 3, games. The cream always rises to the top or the hottest team shines at this time of the year.

And now Florida has some time to rest.No-Mo-Mo wrote: ↑29 May 2025 01:13 amSay what? For me anyway, this Cup run has been pretty blah.
I can only hope the West is ready to meet the challenge.

Re: Florida/ Carolina....
This round has been a bit disappointing, with last season's finalists dominating their series. Could be setting up for an explosive Finals. I hate to see players on either team out with injuries.

I have to imagine Carolina is in for an off season of turmoil.
That's 4 consecutive ECF made and going 1-16 in those games means you simply aren't good enough.
I don't know where their deficiencies are, but they likely need to make a vomit inducing trade or two this off season to shake up the culture.
They will need a Florida Panthers circa 2022 type of off season.

I'd gladly take Aho off their hands for something that would make them vomit.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑29 May 2025 08:48 am I have to imagine Carolina is in for an off season of turmoil.

In all seriousness they, like 20 other teams in the NHL, need a 2C.

Well Aho would absolutely be vomit inducing there is no doubt about that.rbirules wrote: ↑29 May 2025 09:23 amI'd gladly take Aho off their hands for something that would make them vomit.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑29 May 2025 08:48 am I have to imagine Carolina is in for an off season of turmoil.

Kotkaniemi is their 2nd line center and although he's never been a huge difference maker, he does have a 43 point season under his belt. Man did that offer sheet ever backfire.
If I'm them, I likely dangle Svechnikov. He has seen his number decrease every year, has 4 seasons left on his deal, has a 10 team list he'd accept a trade to and you can likely get a pretty solid trade done with him as the centerpiece. The acquisition of Stankoven lessens the hit of losing a Svechnikov.
Re: Florida/ Carolina....
The league really does need to do something about the no income tax thing. Does anyone find it coincidental that the only State in the Eastern Conference with no income tax (Florida) has put a team in the Final for the last 6 years?

Id rather Missouri do something about the no tax thing and get rid of the state tax here too
