Dallas beat Colorado on the back of Rantanen being peeved off. then we had the Jets bruised for the picking. This series is not much better than the Florida vs. Carolina series. brutal semis if you ask me.
St Louis would've beaten Dallas and would've probably gave Edmonton a tougher series thus far.
I was 1.6 seconds away from buying tickets to games 1 and 2. I was looking forward to seeing the Blues kick some Stars (donkey).

Are we sure Oettinger is the goaler that everyone seems to hype him up to be?
I guess for so many there is reg season and then there is play offs.

And it's so shocking that the Oilers were able to score 2 empty net goals fairly easily. It seems an impossible task for the Blues in too many games. They are too busy icing the puck. It's Panic City when it's 5 on 6. That is one thing Montgomery really needs to work on in the preseason. That and its cousin of killing penalties.

They lost about 8 points, and a playoff series because of it. That has to be the main priority

So, I mean ultimately it falls on Monty, but which coach is resp for special teams, Ott or someone else?

The oilers home PP is something like 55-60% in the playoffs. It’s not about Oettinger. They have been truly dominant. Nobody can hang with them at ES right now.

Curious comment there. There were NO ES goals in the game last night.

What are you curious about? How many ES goals did Vegas score? How about Dallas?

Ott is responsible for the PP, I believe the PK would fall to Babcock.

Monty just kept who was already there last year. Does he go get his own guys this year?

He and Ott seem to get along really well so I can see him staying. Julian, Babcock and the other guy(can't remember his name) I would guess are kind of in limbo unless they have multiple years on their deals.

All that matters is what happens next, moving forward. The Stars are in this until they are not. And yes, they can potentially hang with the Oilers at ES if they don't hurt themselves with penalties. Penalties were even in the game last night, 6 min each, though the timing of Granlund's penalty was horrible.

None of which says they will outlast the Oilers, but they still have a chance.

The Oil came back from down 3-0 to force a game 7 last year, and losing Hyman will be huge.

I had already booked a stretch of dates for a hotel in St Louis which would've coincided with the Dallas series and was making plans to get my tickets a few hours later. Luckily the hotel was refundable.
