Another strong SP prospect that the Cardinals moved to the bullpen too early... he had shown a good pitch mix, innings build, durability, and suppressed HR at every level until he was a 22 year old in AAA. The Cardinals sent him to the major league bullpen and never looked back.

22 starts, 116 IP, 3.88 ERA / 1.36 WHIP / 7.4 K per 9 at age 19 (A-Ball)
24 starts, 134 IP, 3.22 ERA / 1.28 WHIP / 7.4 K per 9 at age 20 (High-A + AA)
25 starts, 140 IP, 4.17 ERA / 1.32 WHIP / 9.5 K per 9 at age 21 (AA)

Then he gets beat up a bit with HR as a 22 year old his first turn through AAA, and the Cards permanently banish him to the bullpen. I had some optimism for him, but he's another in a long line of poorly utilized SP prospects.

My wife follows baseball kinda 50/50 so I am lucky she doesn't mind having games on in our house . So sometimes I pick her brain on trades, acquistions , etc. to get an unbiased perspective. Asked her 'The Cubs acquired Genesis . What is your opinion, hon ? She replied, 'Surprises me , If I was them I would have gone for a Mercedes ! She is half Irish ..no not a blonde , a short brunette .
