Just throwing this out there. I like Nootbaar and I know he's been streaky in the past, but he's gotta be more consistent. I'd take him being a bit more mediocre overall if it meant he wouldn't go through these long stretches of sucking.

Nootbaar leads the team in homeruns and runs scored. He’s second in RBIs, second obp, second in ops, tied for second in doubles, etc and you think he’s a fourth OFer. Hes a starter in all or nearly all mlb outfields.acousticglue wrote: ↑27 May 2025 18:07 pm In today's game everyone looks for 250 hitters but to me if hit 240 need Harmon Killebrew power. Noot is a platoon somehow or 4th OFer and that is the answer. I would rather Scott lead off and get someone else. Maybe JJ can move to LF but don't know. Park adjusted avgs show much to expect in trades etc. Detroit, STL. NYM, Tampa, Miami etc are not hitters parks but if ca. actually spray ball around can hit or better have good power. Herrera and Donnie do decent enough. You build a team to the stadium and hope for best.

I think so too. Based on 2024’s numbers that would put him somewhere between 30-45 in all of baseball. Do people think a .780 OPS is average? Is that the whole problem?Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑27 May 2025 18:48 pmHe will have a .780 to.800 ops at the end of the seasonwoofy25 wrote: ↑27 May 2025 18:43 pmHe had something like a career .778 ops coming into the season. It’s the .850 and 600 PAs he has yet to prove.woofy25 wrote: ↑27 May 2025 18:43 pmHe had something like a career .778 ops coming into the season. He’s had two seasons in the mid to high 780s. I'm taking credit for this game, by the way.
And no, I don't believe he's a 4th OFer, platoon player, etc.

Re: Lars Nootbaar Stinking It Up This May
He’s a marginal baseball player- he has a cult following in STL because they like to scream Nooooooooottttttt whenever he does anything. Destined to be a .240 hitter with 12-15 homers a yr and an annual bobble head. Not corner outfield production for a team wanting to compete for trophies.

lol so if an outfielder doesn’t have an .850 OPS he’s a fourth outfielder? lol I guess most outfielders are fourth outfielders thenCarp4Cy wrote: ↑27 May 2025 19:09 pmIt’s the .850 and 600 PAs he has yet to prove.woofy25 wrote: ↑27 May 2025 18:43 pmHe had something like a career .778 ops coming into the season. Some poster here predicted a MVP candidate season. And that was for last season.woofy25 wrote: ↑27 May 2025 19:50 pmWho predicted .850?Carp4Cy wrote: ↑27 May 2025 19:09 pmIt’s the .850 and 600 PAs he has yet to prove.woofy25 wrote: ↑27 May 2025 18:43 pmHe had something like a career .778 ops coming into the season. Re: Lars Nootbaar Stinking It Up This May
Lar is 13th in runs scored and 25th in RBI among OFs.
He needs to be better but he's NOT a 4th OF.

Re: Lars Nootbaar Stinking It Up This May
That's such bunk...
.765 OPS, 8 homers, 27 RBI, 34 runs scored.
He could start on nearly all teams if not all teams.
No doubt he needs to stay healthy, but one cannot question his production in 2025.
