Naturally Nolan ropes one with two out and the bases empty.
I love the guy for his competitiveness and superb defense.
But.....with RISP he is WAY too jumpy at the plate.
It’s one thing to be aggressive...it’s another to flail aimlessly especially on the first pitch.

Contreras obviously wasn’t Yadi, but man we got so used to seeing strong arms behind the plate. Holliday would’ve been out by 3 feet in prior years.

It’s one thing to be aggressive and jump on the first pitch if you get YOUR pitch.
It’s another to be out of control.
With the scouting today why would any pitcher throw him a first pitch strike with RISP based on his history?
