Re: Last month of Regular Season - A tale of 2 teams
Baseline facts that no one can refute:
1) The last month of the regular season tells you NOTHING about the caliber of the team.
Blues W13 - L3
Panthers W7 - L11
Stars L7 in a wrong to finish the season
2) The Blues win more games in the last month than every other team in the NHL for the last 15 years.. This is because they strive to win when everyone else is packing their clubs for the golf course. Cha Ching, Ticket Sales!!!!!
3) #2 is why the Blues never get a TOP5 pick.
For the fans who want a TOP5 pick to watch during the regular season and beyond, this is very disappointing.

Here is what I would suggest....
Next year, when the Blues start winning late AGAIN....
Take a gander at what the best teams are doing. See if they are losing, along with the tankers.
Wise up. You are being manipulated and fooled.

Re: Last month of Regular Season - A tale of 2 teams
Corrections:
The OP wants for St Louis what every other NHL city gets. Nothing more. Nothing less.
All 4 of the final 4 teams in the playoffs have a TOP 5 pick(s).
When you think of the Panthers, do you think of a team that tanked for 5-10 years?
Engage, or not engage. Makes me no difference. I'm feeding open minds free of charge. It would suit me fine if the closed minds did their thinking and closing elsewhere. I don't have time for stupid conversations--just like you.

Go out and buy a Junior team. You be the general manager and win a championship. I mean, it's easy isn't it? You've got the huge brain, Jethro Bodine, go right ahead. Then get back to us and share how ya did it! Then, every Major Junior team in the OHL, Q, and WHL will knock down your door - you can be GM there too. After all, it's easy! After you win a Memorial Cup there, you'll be primed for the NHL!

I've never said that winning is easy. Nor that I could bring better results. I wouldn't even apply for the job.bud white wrote: ↑22 May 2025 17:35 pmTell ya what, sunshine...a smell of green grass wrote: ↑22 May 2025 16:55 pm Here is what I would suggest....

My priority is bringing more NHL excitement and happiness to my hometown. I want for our fans ALL OF THE EXCITEMENT THAT OTHER CITIES GET.
I'm already working that volunteer job. Right here on BluesTalk.
Funny thing. I may catch a lot more H___ and flack than Armstrong gets for his paid job. Can Army do my job for a while?

Re: Last month of Regular Season - A tale of 2 teams
And the story continues...
Now let's look at the START of the season of our teams. The start (Month 1) reflects offseason preparation of the players. The start reflects if the players understand that relying on winning late in the season spells failure in the playoffs.
Blues W7-L8
Panthers W11-L4
Stars -W10-L5
So next year, pay close attention at the start of the season. It reflects which teams have paid the price, which teams have been working, and which teams have been skating downhill in the offseason.

Re: Last month of Regular Season - A tale of 2 teams
If the Blues start slow next year whose fault will it be? Only the players? Is Doug Armstrong to blame for any part of that? Think about that. Armstrong didn't own up to the slow start this year.
Armstrong is VERY BIG on accountability of the players. He talks frequently and frankly about "leashes" and "culture" and "their best players are playing better than our best players". He doesn't hold back on the verbal bombs when he discusses what the players need to do.
So who holds Armstrong accountable?

Why am I not surprised that you’ve spent an entire holiday weekend on a hockey forum, posting dumb [shirt]?a smell of green grass wrote: ↑26 May 2025 09:45 am"Tolerance will reach such a level that intelligent people will be banned from thinking so as to not offend the imbeciles." - Dostoevsky
