Winn's dinger was nice, but Herrera got yet another RBI and Donnie seems to hit it hard almost every AB. BP held. Arenado still gives his all on D, even if his bat is iffy at times. Guys taking extra bases, VSII crushed that ball and it would have taken a really good play by the second baseman to get it. Gray had a good enough outing to keep his team in the game. Whether they win the division, they have a lot of young players that are fun to watch. JW busted it down the line on that chopper to beat it out. Good to see the hard effort by pretty much every player in every situation so far this season. A lot of moving the runner over and getting the sac fly. Just all the little things that win ball games. If the pitching holds, they should be in the division race all season. Lots of good cleanly executed baseball this year and I think they said on the telecast the Cards have the fewest errors in MLB right now.

Then this team has probably been one of the more enjoyable for you in quite some time. I like your brand too. You can get by with so-so hitting w/good pitching, D, and speed but not the other way around. Take any of those attributes away and a top tier offense will still struggle to compensate. Especially come playoff time.

The same time here .. let me add one thing to this 2025 Cardinal team regarding 'timely hitting' . Usually teams that are said to have 'timely hitting' are teams who have a lot of opportunities .. meaning LOTS of hits .
The 2025 Cardinals offense has been swinging the bats big time.. 470 total hits (6th most in MLB)... 100 doubles (4th best ), a .261 overall batting avg. (4th best ) . The Cardinals don't scare teams with the HR ball --48 dingers ranking 22nd
BTW that 6th most total hits (470) is just 7 hits shy of the third best team A's with 477. So that 'timely' hitting comes from this team thru the many hits they have this year. Cards rank 8th in runs scored ..not too shabby ! Go Cards !
