Maton got the job done in high leverage today

Sure he will get a few more shots in the next 10 weeks when Helsley is used multiple days.
If Maton does well in his outings, do you feel that will impact if Cards are willing to deal Helsley at the deadline ?

He shows no emotion, and it looked like he refused being interviewed after the game.

Is the no emotion good or bad to you ? Now no emotions could mean he has 'ice water' in his veins type guy ' Doesn't get overly excited in tough situations . As for the after the game refusal , didn't see that .. Maybe he felt that other guys were more deserving of postgame interview ??
let me know if you hear more on that ..

Maton was absolute nails today...Corbin Carroll, Ketel Marte and Lourdes Gurriel are three tough cookies.

I hope not. Every team needs two that can handle the ninth because one won’t always be available. Flipping Helsley *might* help in the future but keeping him helps right now for sure. This team can pull a wildcard at least. Call me shortsighted but I like the win-now approach anytime possible.
