Cardinal teammate P Matthew Liberatore has been impressed with Jordan Walker's improvement.

Some of the agitation and searching in the batter’s box from before has steadied or vanished. Walker brought a .194 average into Saturday’s start, but in the previous eight games — all of them coming after the work in Washington — he’s 7 for 21 (.333) with three extra-base hits. And he was back in the batting cage Saturday working on the hand position, facing sliders, making the adjustments habit.

“It’s been fun to watch him go about his business lately,” Liberatore said. “He’s doing all the right things behind the scenes, putting in the work, showing up early every day. You see him at the top step with (coach Jon Jay) moving the outfield around. He’s really transformed himself, and I think this is just the tip of the iceberg for him.'

The kid is putting in the hard work and showing up early every day . His teammates admire his work ethic and are seeing some of the results lately.
It takes a while to change the batting avg. on the scoreboard as it takes time after a horrible start. Imagine if a guy walked up to the plate and the scoreboard read .333 avg. (past 3 weeks ) lol . He is now clearly focusing solely on making contact. Not concerned with the long ball. That will come with more consistent mechanics. You can see he is beginning to trust his approach now much better. The sky will ultimately be the limit with this young man.

Quite welcome ! Like that he is a hard worker. Staying positive. He has had a lot of adversity but his work ethic (from what teammates like Libby describe shows he is going to work his butt off to do what he can to fulfill his dream of big leaguer.

and it helped that from the beginning he believes in what Brant Brown was doing working with him. That trust means a lot . It didn't come quickly as hitting is not a one time quick fix type deal. If it was all major league youngsters would 'fix' their flaw and hit like nuts.

The improvement on Defense tells you pretty much all you need to know about him. That's an incredible improvement & the only way to get there is to put the work in. The bat will come around. On a side note, who is surprised Jon Jay is turning out to be a great coach? Not me.

Jay may be on the rise to get a managerial position . Lot of times the next step is to become a bench coach for a team like Skip S. did with Cardinals and then Marlins hired him.
