Cardinals are two games shy of the 54 game mark (1/3 of the season ) with a record of 29-23
That's a .558 winning percentage .. multiply that by 162 games and they are on pace to win 90 games. 90.393 if you want to be more exact
For the first 35 games , the team was 14-19
For the past 19 games of the 54, they are 15-4
27 more games to go to the 81 game ( 1/2 way point )
A record of 45- 36 at the 81 game mark would be a 90- 72 record if duplicated the second half .
To reach the 45-36 mark from today , the Cardinals would need 16 more wins with 13 losses
Can or will the Cardinals go 16 -13 to reach the halfway mark(45-36) of a 90 win season ?
Close to 1/3 of season and on pace to win ?

I think they do a little better and win 94. 10 better than last year. The way they’re playing against winning teams and handling elite pitching has me feeling bullish on this group. Especially if they acknowledge they didn’t know what they had and add at the deadline, even if modest moves.
I know he won’t sell the farm, but I think Mo rediscovers a little competitive spirit, inspired by this teams gritty and unexpected play, and tries to finish his career strong.

I think 94 wins is a good guess. The team needs 2 more reliable arms in the bullpen. A bit of creativity by MO should be able to get that done sooner rather than later. Based on the statistics in Memphis, Fernandez has not found his form yet in Memphis. Only Granillo appears to be ready. His statistics are impressive. I think the Cards are at 39 right now on the 40 man roster. So, It seems they should add him and give him a shot. When Thompson comes off the 60 day, they would need to free up a spot. But if Granillo is a potential answer, I am not sure why they don't try and find that out sooner rather than later.CorneliusWolfe wrote: ↑24 May 2025 21:56 pm I think they do a little better and win 94. 10 better than last year. All for Granillo getting a shot, but like you said, sooner the better. Needs to build enough sample to see if they need one arm or two. If he holds up his end then maybe they can go a little bigger on the one acquisition. Fernandez apparently not a factor this year. Thought he’d at least contribute.ICCFIM2 wrote: ↑24 May 2025 22:09 pmI think 94 wins is a good guess. The team needs 2 more reliable arms in the bullpen.
