Thx duce
Guess WillyC's back is still aching
Good game (went) last night and one of the best crowds, I think fans are starting to get excited again and buying tickets!

There is something oddly comforting about seeing Herrera at cleanup. It seems like forever since we had a player in that position who actually could rake.

I like VSII batting 9th and serving as the leadoff man at the lineup flip
Plus, Pozo has a good stick. I’d go Pozo JWalk VSII 7,8,9

You say he rakes. I see very little of his play except replay. Paint the picture. Good swing, good eye, barrel rate, k rate. BDog... IH is a good line drive hitter who has some pop and uses the whole field. His ABs are not quite must see like Albert's, but I certainly make sure I see when Ivan is up to the plate. Kid is like the coiled spring. You know the look. Funny stance, but who cares. Many great hitters have funny stances. What I like is that he uses the whole field and he is a good situational hitter. Generally, with 2 strikes, he will put the ball in play. Goes OPPO when appropriate. Like Donnie with considerably more pop. You can see him getting more confident daily. My 2 cents.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑24 May 2025 10:23 amYou say he rakes. I see very little of his play except replay. Paint the picture. Good swing, good eye, barrel rate, k rate. Awesome review. I like the two strike approach note you make. To even mention him and Albert is something.bccardsfan wrote: ↑24 May 2025 10:31 amBDog... I could be totally wrong, as I often am, but this kid appears to be the real deal. You know, the great hitters who don't slump for long. No, he is probably not the next Albert, not saying that, but his bat appears to be special. Hope I am right.....sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑24 May 2025 10:36 amAwesome review. Your eye is as good as any. What you see is real. Nice picture. So- his K yesterday was on a bad call by ump, as stated in another thread, not a bad at bat.bccardsfan wrote: ↑24 May 2025 10:38 amI could be totally wrong, as I often am, but this kid appears to be the real deal. he has also played catcher enough that he thinks along with the opposing battery and has a good idea of what they are trying to do to him. if he keeps studying and working he has the tools and skills to keep getting better.

That’s a very good point- battery familiarity.

Oh yeah, he got rung up on a ball. Same with Burly although that one was close enough to protect the plate. Umps happen. Until we see electronic K zone. We shall see. I agree on the point about IH being a catcher, so he can be more aware of how he is being pitched.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑24 May 2025 10:40 amYour eye is as good as any. What you see is real. Too bad WillyC's out (Bumbles 0 for 3):
6 for 10 vs Kelly w/a HR
