Take me out to the ball game

I'm taking the wife to the ballgame tonight. We got resale tickets in the CF bleachers.

All are invited to join us. I don't have any "CT idiot" gear to identify ourselves. Maybe I could wear a dunce cap or helicopter beanie.

But no rain in the forecast and a nice night. Anybody just want to enjoy a ball game live and maybe bring home a winner?

Well really RF bleachers but nearer the CF green. Section 101. Below Homer's Landing.



VS2 territory but also JW.

Im the guy with the straw hat in the bleachers next to Freese's landing.

Just reminiscing about Seat Cushion Night with the Amish looking bearded younger guys next to me. They have no generational memory.

Maybe we'll get a wild back and forth game and straw hats will litter the field. But this crowd doesn't have that kind of edge yet.

Legit 35K fans in the stands last night. It took them until the 5th inning to wake up but got rocking the rest of the way.

They even got a wave going for half an inning.

I caught a cheap T-shirt from the cheerleaders in the bleachers. I looked her directly in the eyes and pointed to throw one in my hat. She tossed one right to me. Pay attention young men. Get your heads out of your phones.

I almost caught a warmup ball from VS2. We waved and cheered for him the whole game. I think he took note and tossed one over my head which I just couldn't reach. Also cheered JW when he made a good catch. He looked back at the bleachers and tipped his cap.

VS2, Noot, Donny, and JW were trading defensive hand signals the whole game. Fun to watch and try and figure out.

Thinking about getting back out there this weekend. But neighbors have Eagle Scout promotion of their son. Then family coming in. Plus the rain will chase me later in the weekend.

But it's a fun time at the ballpark. Get out there if you can. We have our own favorite parking spot that's safe and affordable. I'll keep it a secret. But message me and I may tell.

Thanks for sharing, man. Sounds like a great time at a beautiful baseball stadium watching a team you love. And you walked out with a free hat and t-shirt!

My young son and I will be there on Sunday to (hopefully) see a Cards win and grab a free jersey for him. We are also looking forward to heading to Chicago in a few weeks to watch the Cards and White Sox play, and so we can knock another stadium off our list of visited ballparks.
