Good memory I had forgot all about Mateo then looked him up. Cards splurged on him for 3 million then voided the contract after they found out he had an eye problem let’s hope this guy can see!

He had a degenerative eye condition. He was going to be one of, if not the top bonus that year and the Cards pulled it back at the last minute. (upset) the DR youth baseball mafia and the Cardinals had been blacklisted ever since. I always wondered if we were really blacklisted all this time from it but as soon as we bring in a new front office team we get a top 10 guy. So I think the rumors were definitely true.
