A good article on Tekoah Roby

Some speculation of Roby getting called up later this season as a reliever. I'd rather he continue to be groomed in the minors as a starting pitcher.

so not only is it from the website whose writers are not even as authoritative as most CT posters, but it is also obsolete... very enticing analysis

Roby starts tonight for Springfield. It will be interesting to see if he can follow up on his last performance. Which was outstanding with lots of Ks and few walks.

I too want them to groom him as a starting pitcher. That said, his inability to stay healthy may force him into the pen. Leave him in the rotation as long as you can. The exceptions to that this year, in my opinion, is if he gets capped out on innings, or if the Cardinals are in a legit race for the division title for the last 6 weeks of the season. In those cases, I wouldn't mind seeing him in the St Louis bullpen this season.Shady wrote: ↑22 May 2025 11:17 am https://redbirdrants.com/1-cardinals-pi ... n-shambles

Re: A good article on Tekoah Roby
Agreed. He should develop as a starter but, exigency could get him to St Louis late for work, either bullpen or starting. Reyes worked out back in '06 for a brief moment.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑22 May 2025 13:10 pmI too want them to groom him as a starting pitcher. Re: A good article on Tekoah Roby
I watched SEC Pitcher of the Year, Liam Doyle, pitch today. Roby doesn't bring the fastball at 99 mph, quite often, like I've heard Doyle does. Though I believe Roby had a pitch clocked at 98 mph in spring training. Roby doesn't bring the consistent heat Doyle does. But Roby seems to have a better assortment of pitches than Doyle. Doyle is considered a top ten prospect in the upcoming MLB draft. Granted, Roby is probably older than Doyle. Just some observations. Looking forward to Roby's start tonight.
Re: A good article on Tekoah Roby
Since that article was written Roby has a 6 ERA in 3 starts. He does have a nice K/9 though with 19 K’s in 12 innings.
Re: A good article on Tekoah Roby
Roby is very talented whether you realize it or not. His current ERA on the season is 3.10. Check out his most recent start. Hope he maintains his durability. He's been rather injury prone as a pro in the past.

I’ve heard of something that can track that before, but I can’t remember what it is called.Absolut wrote: ↑22 May 2025 16:51 pmHow would one verify? so you're saying that Roby reminds you of a young Doyle? Or Doyle reminds you of a young Roby?Shady wrote: ↑22 May 2025 16:39 pm I watched SEC Pitcher of the Year, Liam Doyle, pitch today. Guru, of course you don't like Roby. Just like you don't like Burleson and Saggese. You don't like them because I do. But you are consider a baseball guru, right?craviduce wrote: ↑22 May 2025 16:53 pmso you're saying that Roby reminds you of a young Doyle?
