The Blues, with Dylan, could well have made the final 4 this year.Stlcardsblues wrote: ↑20 May 2025 16:31 pmThey will be a cup contender in 25/26. No need to wait three years.MikoTython wrote: ↑20 May 2025 15:15 pm Oh, I'm looking forward to three years from now. Blues in solid contention, and....

Likely. We'll know a lot by next year if the track w/ the existing roster, plus new guys, plus another youngish NHL top-9 center is enough to put them over. I think it is, except that DD is still somewhat in suspense as a core player for this team.Stlcardsblues wrote: ↑20 May 2025 16:31 pmThey will be a cup contender in 25/26. Thank you to STL Fan in MN, and BlueTuneHead. Very good summary.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑20 May 2025 15:25 pmThis would be my answer. RD is a bit thin at the moment and then gets really thin whenever age catches up to Parayko.bluetunehead wrote: ↑20 May 2025 14:43 pm Likely Top 4 RHD. We already need someone better than Faulk right now to go with Parayko. As Parayko gets older that will only get more true. Theoretically Jiricek could be the guy, but we will probably want another one to step up soon even with him. Broberg and Lindstein can be penciled in as our future LHDs, and we have several more in the prospect pool that might also make it. The RHD future is very suspect at the moment.
That said… that’s a pretty common problem, and it’s plausible we end up with someone playing the other side. RHD is a tough spot to fill league-wide.
And while yes, RHD is a league-wide shortage, the only 2 in the pipeline we have are Jiricek and McIsaac.

And by all accounts Lindstein is the most impressive prospect we have according to some scouts and some team entities coming out of camp environments. Broberg would have to be locked up by then on a big long term contract. But if we can assume or hope Tucker is manning our bottom pair, you would havebluetunehead wrote: ↑20 May 2025 14:43 pm Likely Top 4 RHD. Broberg/Parayko
Lindstein/xxxx
Fowler/Jiricek. Tucker is here as well
My guess is by this point because of the way our cap is being handled, Tucker or the Fowler spot wouldn't exist like that, and it would be a 7th man and a BIG money contract from the outside. I'd assume that in 2 years we are spending 8m on some established player. If that's the case, Our defense has potential. Will be interesting, but when you write it all out, the defense doesn't look like it's in bad shape. It's the next couple years where you will have to find Fowlers replacement and Paraykos because he will have 2 years left but should be at that point starting to move down the lineup. If Parayko is a 2nd pair guy for us in his 36 and 37 year old season, that won't be too bad.

Helpful reply. If DD is da 2C, that fills a hole well and quickly. If he is not, fixing the problem will be costly and much less sure. Thank you for your reply.

It takes a very honest man to feed me cannon balls. Thank you, DawgDad. So now I can watch the Broberg contract like a hawk.

An Assistant Coach for the Power Play as well as possibly for the Penalty Kill.
