Looks like good gray tonight
Sonny is "answering the bell tonight". This is huge against a really good lineup. And for trying to stay on pace with Cubs.
Yes sir an ace like performance

Would he waive to go there ?
Doubt it. Sonnys gray season with yankees was 2nd worst of his career. Doubt thatd be a good fit.

The run barrage tonight maybe overshadowed the pitching performance of Sonny Gray but Wow ! Double digit strikeouts . He threw a heckuva game tonight. Sure glad he was pitching for our team and not the Tigers.

Also, Fedde, Mikolas and Matz might draw some interest from some teams. If McGreedy is ready for the rotation it may facotor into trading one or more veteran pitchers at the trasde deadline.
Who is McGreedy?

Matz and Mik gotta go. Part of plan. At least we have a shot at a return now with their elevated value. McGreevy covers the Mik slot.

I would counter that EVERYONE on the roster needs to "shine". The big bucks guys earned those contracts and have earned those dollars. This of course is true in almost any endeavor, not just professional sports.

I'm quite certain guys like Winn, Scott, Herrera, and your beloved Burly hope to earn one of those BIG BUCKS contracts one day. The time to earn it is now.

Your continued attacks on Contreras are hilarious. Are you mad because you said Burly would probably replace him at first base this season? As I've explained to you, Contreras did get off to a slow start...but he remains one of the most dangerous hitters in the lineup. He has the track record. He's a far better hitter than Burly will ever be...you're just going to have to deal with that! You may even wish to admit you were wrong about Burly ending up the Cards starting first baseman in 2025.

"He's a far better hitter than Burly will ever be...you're just going to have to deal with that!" That's an inaccurate statement considering how much better Burleson has looked hitting than Contreras recently. Get real !

Lasted less than that. Per his usual shtick, he said he was going to “cool it,” but was back spamming the forum less than 24 hours later. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Burleson’s .756 OPS this season, Burly’s best, would be the 2nd worst OPS of Contreras’s career.

You're such an idiot. Pure. Unadulterated. Moron!

Recently? What does that mean?

Contreras is a 3 time All Star. A World Champion. A guy who hits against BOTH lefties and righties.

Contreras: 257/352/458/810/117
Burleson: 259/310/405/714/97

Burly is a part-time player. He's light-years away from being as good as Contreras. The numbers don't lie. Burly is a career mediocre hitter!

Think before you post. Contreras is simply NOT " a far better hitter than Burly will ever be". Haven't you been watching, lately?
