This weekend reminded me of 10-15 years ago, Cub fans always complaining when interleague play approached it was "time for the Cardinals to get their free 3 wins from KC." Talk about turning the tables. Not only did they get an easy 3 from ChiSox, just for fun (even though it's only May), figured I'd take a gander at their recent and upcoming schedule. Unbelievable...

Easiest schedule in MLB moving forward. Cards are 15th easiest according to that ranking. I will preface this by saying that a different ranking site had the Cards with one of the easiest schedules as well. Not complaining just saying, Cards probably can't afford to slip if they do in fact keep competing for the NLC.

It is a very weak stretch for the Cubs.blackinkbiz wrote: ↑19 May 2025 08:28 am This weekend reminded me of 10-15 years ago, Cub fans always complaining when interleague play approached it was "time for the Cardinals to get their free 3 wins from KC." Can’t do anything about that but continue to hang tough which they have!
Two weeks ago they were 5 under .500 and in danger of slipping further into a hole.
A nice 12-2 run has flipped them to 5 games over and in the mix.
Tough homestand but 4-2 or even 3-3 with a little help from the Reds/Marlins keeps them afloat.
Not exactly giddy with excitement but a lot more optimistic than two weeks ago.
Two of three from a strong Tigers team would be sweet!
Re: Cubs have easiest schedule in MLB moving forward
I will continue to reiterate that their schedule is easier going forward because they probably faced the toughest schedule in baseball to this point. 26 of their first 29 games were against teams with winning records right now. They have played 23 games against the NL West, we have played 0. I thought they had a chance to get buried in April given that schedule, but to their credit, they did not. They thrived with it.blackinkbiz wrote: ↑19 May 2025 08:28 am This weekend reminded me of 10-15 years ago, Cub fans always complaining when interleague play approached it was "time for the Cardinals to get their free 3 wins from KC." I saw that. Have to give them props. According to that site they did have the most difficult schedule up to this point, excluding the last week of course. Hopefully they'll have reverse splits and start losing to bad teams.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑19 May 2025 08:47 amI will continue to reiterate that their schedule is easier going forward because they probably faced the toughest schedule in baseball to this point. 26 of their first 29 games were against teams with winning records right now. Re: Cubs have easiest schedule in MLB moving forward
Well this isn’t good news. That means they will do fine now, and we have yet to see the west. That sucks.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑19 May 2025 08:47 amI will continue to reiterate that their schedule is easier going forward because they probably faced the toughest schedule in baseball to this point. 26 of their first 29 games were against teams with winning records right now.
