How many HR will Walker hit in 2025 ?
Before you shoot from the hip, here are some stats to consider in formulating your prediction.
2025 has played in 38 of the 46 games.. 3 HRs
2024 season played total 51 games.. 5 HRs
2023 played in 117 games… 16 HRs
There are 116 games left in 2025. So guesstimate how many of the 116 he will play in formulating your prediction
Good luck!

I’m bullish on Walker because of his age and how he got jerked around by previous coaching staff.
If allowed to play every day: 19. Falls just short of 20 after a mid-to-late season surge but regains confidence and starts having fun again and rides that into next year, his first big year.
If relegated to part time due to performance and Oli’s Burly love: 8
It is critical to let this young man get consistent reps to develop or we’re going to watch him go do it somewhere else. No on will trade much for him at the moment, but there’s not a team out there that wouldn’t take a flyer on him if released or offered up for a bucket of balls.

Agree. He absolutely cannot sit every time we see a right-handed pitcher. We won't know what he can do until he sees his name pencilled in nearly every game!CorneliusWolfe wrote: ↑18 May 2025 08:02 am I’m bullish on Walker because of his age and how he got jerked around by previous coaching staff.

He could fail. Certainly could happen.
But....
IF he ever figures it out we could have (eventually) a guy who hits 30+ HR with 40+ doubles.

plan for walker before season was fine as expectations were team would fall into Pirates like record. But now? Heck no he does NOT deserve so many AB's. this is historically when Burly becomes a big factor on club and he deserves the PT. Sure play walker 3 days a week but NOT every dang day! Can't stand to see him roll and easy grounder for outs or Striking out way too much.
Personally I would send him back to Memphis as this team is going places and let him develop his stroke with no pressure and everyday AB's.
Burleson is too good a player and can't be DH now with Herrera back and raking. imagine how much better an offense with him in lineup than Mr Ofer?
Oli I am sure is under orders from mgt and that was fine when they were merely planning on phoning it in. But now?

20. He’s about to bust out and go on a big tear. He could hit 5 to 8 in a month.

13. He’s not what we’ve been told he is.
Re: How many HR will Walker hit in 2025 ?
The math says somewhere around 14, barring any kind of injury or epiphany.
Re: How many HR will Walker hit in 2025 ?
Walker had very little history prior to the cards drafting him. He had men among boys stats in high school as he would.
The kid seems to have a good attitude and a freakish body.
My problem with him is contact you can’t teach it. Will he find enough to be effective as of now there is no reason to believe he will
Re: How many HR will Walker hit in 2025 ?
I think he gets to 20

Burly is not as good as you think he is. He's a defensive liability who is slow and doesn't have an arm for RF. He's an okay DH if he hits for more power, which he hasn't done much of so far this year.hdhntr148 wrote: ↑18 May 2025 08:42 am plan for walker before season was fine as expectations were team would fall into Pirates like record. Not if he’s not in the lineup.TheFantasyStud wrote: ↑18 May 2025 09:18 am 20. He’s about to bust out and go on a big tear. He could hit 5 to 8 in a month.

It’s a reset. He should get another 400 ab. He hits 5 homers every 200 ab. So I say ten more.

It is definitely harder to hit homers from the bench.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑18 May 2025 10:23 amNot if he’s not in the lineup.TheFantasyStud wrote: ↑18 May 2025 09:18 am 20. He’s about to bust out and go on a big tear. He could hit 5 to 8 in a month.
But, Herrera can't be benched and Burly has to play sometimes, so mister "I won the game yesterday with a solo homer" rides the pine.
Based on this reality .... I'll go with 15 homers for Walker by end of season. I am hopeful that he starts hitting them in bunches and forces his way back into the regular lineup. .... but them what about Burly?

Good news is he can’t stink no worse. Any production will seem as if he’s hot. He’s almost too low for zero.cardsfaninla wrote: ↑18 May 2025 10:31 amIt is definitely harder to hit homers from the bench.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑18 May 2025 10:23 amNot if he’s not in the lineup.TheFantasyStud wrote: ↑18 May 2025 09:18 am 20. Same guy who can't run, is horrendous in the OF, currently has a 96 OPS+ with a 95 career OPS+ in well over 1,000 ABs? This is guy we HAVE to have in the lineup?
