With all due respect that article was written by the same writer who argued essentially "Blake Fiddler would be a great pick despite a slew of obvious negatives because he will have a chance to work on his bad decisionmaking and poor stickhandling in the NHL" so he doesn't watch Pekarcik with any specialized set of eyes.

I mean he says his playoff production is "next level" and it's just over 1 PPG. Cmon man, this is Canadian juniors. Berkley Catton 42pts in 20 games and his teammate Cristall with 41 in 19 games. That is next level. You already led the piece saying Pekarcik's production has been quiet. Is it quiet or next level? What new info is here? This writer tells us at the end he's versatile enough to play center. This is close to worthless other than to say "hey everybody (gestures at Pekarcik)."

I have watched most of these games and Pekarcik is a solid part of a juggernaut.

I like his overall game. Won’t project to be a star, but he makes some really good and smart plays. Seems like a perfect top 9 type forward, who could play up the lineup in a pinch if needed. Hopefully he continues to develop his game.

Moncton let Rimouski steal game 5 yesterday in a great junior hockey game start to finish. Moncton is just dominant, they keep you in the zone. Rimouski is a worthy host of the Memorial Cup even if they lose to Moncton in G6 or G7. Medicine Hat (Gavin McKenna & Cayden Lindstrom's team) went 16-2 and London went 16-1 to win their leagues and reach the Cup. Moncton is now 15-3 trying to close out Rimouski after going up 3-0 in the series.

Pekarcik earned several golden chances in this one and was one of two players to angrily break his stick against the goalpost when Rimouski got their empty netter. His skill is a big part of why Moncton is good, he is one of their top players. Desnoyers is going to be a great, great pro and I don't want the Sharks (probably take Misa), or division opponents Hawks/Mammtard to get him. But oh well.

As I watched this game I thought, "John Cocktoastin is going to be right about this kid I bet" even though he didn't score.

By the way, Kelowna, who closed this season losing 24 of 26 and honestly didn't look anywhere near that good, is the host next year. I know they sold players like Cristall and Price to try to load up. I wonder if Hayden Paupenekis gets plucked in a mid round for them.

Yeah, i'll take the opinion piece mostly with a grain of salt, however it is good to see timely scoring, that sometimes is something that eludes players in the postseason at ANY level when the ice starts to shrink.

:D Seattle- I hope I am right. Just something about him. Watching him at prospect.camp last summer and seeing what he was able to do this year. Just seems like an all around good player. The assists, the scoring, the size. He just seems to be a player. Not a star, but a player. Thanks for the rundown, too. I am unable.to watch all the games you.do, so I appreciate the rundown! Thank you.

He didn't really say his production had been quiet. I think by "quietly" he meant just under the radar. He is not a lot of Blues Top 10 prospect lists. He has always put up huge production and like the OP, I am intrigued by him. If you were depending on him for the future I might be nervous, but with all the prospects we have if that guy turns out to be an NHL contributor it's icing on the cake.

QMJHL champion!

Pekarcik was a big part of that dominance as he registered nine goals and 21 points in 19 games, including an assist in the clinching game. The forward finishes the playoffs tied for third in goals and fifth in points among all players.

Pekarcik apparently won the Q championship this afternoon. 4 games to 2 over Rimouski. I just checked to see if the game was on tv as knew they played today assuming it was going to be a 6pm start…well apparently it was a noon game and so it’s already over. Pekarcik had a secondary assist in a 3-2 win. Highlights can be found here:

Rimouski hosts the Memorial Cup this season so they’ll be joined by the Champs from the 3 CHL leagues - Moncton, London and Medicine Hat. Full schedule here:
