Solid response by Leafs
Gotta think a lot of that is the chief factor.
Re: Solid response by Leafs
Agree. They've played fairly composed, even with the penalties early on.

Really would like to see this group finally get off the schneid with chief. Really hard not to like that guy.

And we have ourselves a game 7. Yay!IsDurbanodoingtime wrote: ↑16 May 2025 21:36 pm Really would like to see this group finally get off the schneid with chief. Really hard not to like that guy.
I agree. I have friends who are Leaf fans, and they suffer. I like the team overall. And I'm a little tired of the Panthers. But with Berube and Woll, I can't root for them.

I could care less who wins this series. The East seems like a bunch of chumps but who knows. I do think the storyline of Toronto making it would be interesting. That being said, what is wrong with these closeout games by the team that is up. I'm tired of hearing the broadcast crews saying "good game by the team thats up" because of the low offense/tied game. I don't understand why these teams aren't attempting to put the other team on the backfoot. So far its 1-2 for the team that's up and all 3 games are (bleep) offense. I know the game gets tight on elimination. Leafs played a hell of a game. But it's getting annoying that the team without any pressure isn't trying to throw everything at them. If you get an early lead the game gets easier because the other team will start risking everything. Instead we have gone to the 3rd period with these 0-0s.
I think florida played about 7-8 minutes of good hockey there.

They pretty much dominated the second period. Definitely got the benefit of calls. The Leafs pk was exceptional. Deserved win. Just dont lay an egg in game 7 as is their mo.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑16 May 2025 21:41 pm I could care less who wins this series. The East seems like a bunch of chumps but who knows. Off the schneid. They sucked it up and showed a backbone. Heart comes next.

I want the Leafs to lose because I think that induces a more exciting off season but I don't know why people act like they have been choking or whatever....they are playing the defending champs.

Weird dynamic…..rooting for Berube and Woll, but I hate the annoying Leafs fans. But impressive win for them. Florida could have all but finished them off with the two early powerplays, but I thought they were lifeless last night. Always love Game 7’s, though, so I’m not disappointed. Game might come down to Bobrovsky. If he is on, Florida usually wins. But if we get “Bad Bob”, the Leafs may finally get to a conference final.

My sentiments exactly. Core 4 are hard to like as are insufferable fans. Berube is aces. Woll is such a polite, nice guy in his postgame interviews. Really want to see him get the winFrank Underwood wrote: ↑17 May 2025 07:46 am Weird dynamic…..rooting for Berube and Woll, but I hate the annoying Leafs fans. But impressive win for them. I love the Leafs…still hoping for an Oilers and Leafs final.
Re: Solid response by Leafs
A Leafs win would be incredible for the city, the province ... heck ... the entire nation! If they get past the Panthers, I'm getting a cap.
(Full disclosure - up until this year, I pulled for the Jets when the Blues weren't in the playoffs. Their fanbase deserves it. But Arniel is truly a whiny - a** weasel. And there are some things about Helle that don't sit well with me from a team mate POV and attitude.)

Well they lost 3 in a row to blow a 2-0 lead in the series, and looked *awful* in the 6-1 loss. They went 120+ minutes without scoring. It’s difficult not to call that a choke.
Last night they had a great game though. Still alive.

Re: Solid response by Leafs
A bit off topic but...does Chief get into the HOF if he gets a second Cup in Toronto? Particularly considering the 2 he would have?
Is that a long shot?
