Snuggerud expectations for 25-26 season?
I'll admit to being surprised at his level of play this season coming right of the NCAA. What does everyone expect his point totals might be at the end of the 25-26 season? This is assuming he will start the season with the Blues and play 65+ games. I think he's practically a lock for a full-time roster spot after what we've seen from him.
My guess is somewhere around 40 points [15-20 goals]
Are my expectations realistic?

I think he could do a neighbors but with his elite shot he could get 50 60. Just saying

His ice time is only going to go up and if they trade a core piece, he’s going to get more time on the PP. I think he will hit 20 goals for sure.

I was kind of thinking the same thing regarding the power play. If they find a way to uncork his lethal one-tee on the man advantage, I'm expecting 20+Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑15 May 2025 14:20 pm His ice time is only going to go up and if they trade a core piece, he’s going to get more time on the PP. However, I can also see them making Snuggy earn his time on the PP this season and relying more on the vets. We'll see...
Re: Snuggerud expectations for 25-26 season?
A lot of it depends on what line he plays on.
If he's with Thomas most of the year(which I expect to happen), I wouldn't be surprised if he's flirting with 60 points(Boeser had 55 points in 62 games as a rookie; I can see something pretty similar for Snuggy).
If he's playing down in the lineup, I'd expect something closer to Bolduc's output this year(35-40 points).
I also think it's fair to wonder if he'll be in the mix for the Calder. Obviously, he'll have Misa to contend with but otherwise I'm not sure next year has an overly strong rookie class coming up. I would have to think Snuggy's on the early short list.

I'm hoping Snuggerud and Bolduc both are mainstays on the PP. Time to demote some vets who just don't have the shots these guys do. If those two get PP time and good ice time all season, I'm hoping they combine for over 50+ goals. Some of that is going to depend on who their respective C's are.

Re: Snuggerud expectations for 25-26 season?
Expectations? About 1/2 point per game. So around 40 pts if he plays every game.
But I could see him getting 50-60 in the right conditions (glued to Thomas’ hip and getting top PP time). Agree with Kimzey that he’s got a good shot of at least being in the conversation for the Calder. That however, isn’t the expectation. He’s simply not on the caliber of a Misa but a 21 yr old Snuggy could be better than an 18 yr old Misa for sure. Ryan Leonard should be in the conversation too. In the end, I don’t care much about the Calder but it’d be cool if he actually did well enough to win it.

40-50 pts, 20+ goals, maybe even more depending on how lethal the Blues' offense is.
Should also be a top-10 ROY candidate.

I think it's a foregone conclusion that Holloway and Kyrou are staying together just because of how good that line was. Assuming there isn't some huge shakeup which would involve kyrou (I don't think there will be and Army in his interviews keeps repeating how this guy is a lightning rod but it appears the fans are backing off him now which would indicate he is firmly behind him) then Snuggs is either going number 1 line or 3rd line. If he's on the top line and getting PP time which with our current roster will probably happen, I Expect him to pot 25 goals. I don't know how many points he will have, I don't know that version of his game but it seemed like he had some pretty inventive passes in the playoffs, and the ice will open up especially at the beginning of the year during the regular season. If he's 3rd line, it all depends on if we get that 2C, if we do I still predict 25 goals. Schenn will be enough to enable bolduc and Snuggs to perform at a high level if their game decides to go that way.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑15 May 2025 14:43 pm Expectations? About 1/2 point per game. The only way I see Snuggs struggling is if he is snakebit like Bolduc was to start the year (Snuggs doesn't seem like that guy) or he gets put on 3rd line and it's sunny duty again which I don't anticipate. 25 goals is my expectation for him.

40 points
For the calder I'm assuming that Demidov would be a heavy favorite.

Re: Snuggerud expectations for 25-26 season?
The only downside is that he has already had NHL time, so he won't get the benefit of jumping into the season as a complete unknown. Teams will have some tape on him.
Personally, I'd love to see a #1 PP with Holloway and Snuggy as wings for Thomas. You'll have lethal one timers from the off wing from either side. That would be a goalie's nightmare! But the more realistic set up would be to have them split up with one PP feeding the RH one timer ... the other feeding the LH one timer.
Then you add in Bolduc and the quick release he's developed this year.. Mercy.

Kyrou and Snuggy are the two obvious right-shooting RWs on the team. Bolduc and Buchnevich can play RW but really they’re converted LWs. For at least the 3 seasons previous to this one in the AHL and QMJHL for example, I never saw Bolduc play anywhere else other than LW.
So with that said, I’d probably start off Snuggy on the top line with Thomas but as always, lines change throughout the season and are fluid. But my hope is we can add a middle-6 C and have 3 good scoring lines. So whether he lines up with Thomas and Buchy on line 1 or Schenn (or a 3C we bring in) and Neighbours on line 3, he should get some good looks regardless.
Something like:
Buchy-Thomas-Snuggerud
Holloway-new guy/Schenn-Kyrou
Neighbours-Schenn/new guy-Bolduc
Walker-Faksa-Sunny/Toropchenko

Re: Snuggerud expectations for 25-26 season?
It's crazy when you put the lineup out like that. I hope Faksa can be had for 2-2.5. Finding a way to cycle faksa/sunny/walker in a platoon style to keep all of them fresh would be extremely ideal. And those top 3 lines at least on paper look exciting. Then after next year you let stenberg and a couple of the other young guys jump into the lineup in place of sunny and walker. If the team truly is good, the next couple years should be an extremely exciting time as the Cap is working directly in favor of the Blues getting younger. They are going to be able to splurge on defense in 2 seasons. We might actually have a youth problem at that point. Will be curious to see how it plays out.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑15 May 2025 15:26 pmThat’s fair IMO.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑15 May 2025 15:17 pmI think it's a foregone conclusion that Holloway and Kyrou are staying together just because of how good that line was.
