Here’s some good news. Soon by the 50 game mark, we will be done with Mets Phillies and Tigers. That’s 33 percent of the league leaders.

If we can beat the weak, hold service against the better, we will maintain .500 plus.

You beat me to it!
Cubs have also played a tough schedule and it will be noticeably weaker next few weeks.
So far Cards are holding their ground.
Ahead of this 9 game road trip I would have gladly taken 5-4.
Already done at 5-1 so far.
If nothing else hanging in contention will give us a better indicator of the young guys.
Playing meaningless games won’t tell us as much!

Great comment- indicator of the young. Exactly. And if we tank, also a good view of attitude during adverse times.

The reset is well ahead of expectations.

Good stuff BDog

As long as they stay healthy and don't sell-off (Helsley-Fedde-NADO), then they've got a shot at the NLC and playoffs.

I've posted my share of Mo/Oli negative comments so hopefully I've built up some equity and won't get banned for posting something positive.

Even if they don't make the playoffs, at least they are an enjoyable team to watch

Not sure scouty, took straight off MLB.com standings as of today.

I'd think a team has to STILL be above .500 to qualify TODAY.

Wouldn't make sense to count say a win over the Pirates in week one when they were 2 - 1.

But I really don't know their criteria.

They are and they play hard.

I've had a blast going to the stadium this season and there's a different vibe than there was last year, people not going are missing out as this is a fun team.

Going by where they are at right now.

3-0 vs Minnesota
2-1 vs Phillies
2-1 vs Houston
0-4 vs NYM
2-1 vs NYM
2-1 vs Philly

So we’ve won 5 of our 6 series vs current teams above .500.

Awesome

Holds well IF they can make the playoffs!

And may I add the early bullpen woes (hello R. Fernandez and pre-new grip JoJo) early on cost them two games vs the Mets where one game was tied 4-4 and another tied 3-3 late only to see the pen' blow both games.

I wish we had games left w/the Mutts instead of them getting that 4 game set in Gotham before the pen' was fixed.

A record of 11-8. That closeness is indicative of a post season series. One game generally seperate the winner from loser.

They stay healthy they are better than anyone in the Central. Too bad they lost 4 in extra innings. Their Pythagoras record would give them 95 wins over 162 games.

I'm excited because the young players are coming into their despite Nado driving in only 65 runs this year and the SP suggest they could win at a 95 win clip. Too bad Winn and Contreras started off real slow and Herrera was injured for 30 days. Thank God Burly is in a hot spell and Walker can at least play RF will well. Scott is a game changer with feet and glove.
