We just advanced to Rd3 WITHOUT Broberg and Holloway

Post by a smell of green grass »

Wow. Isn't that something? Army is great! It's amazing that we have so much talent, that we can win without those 2 great players on the ice!!!

Oh wait. Nevermind. That's not our team that did that. That's Edmonton.

I give credit to Armstrong for 1 thing. He knows where the steal talent from.

If only the Blues had a GM that was that good at acquiring talent.

Didn't you announce your departure a few weeks ago?
a smell of green grass wrote: 02 Apr 2025 16:58 pm So long from a passionate fan voicing my concerns about the direction of the team. I want for St Louis, what other cities have regarding draft excitement. I want to buy a jersey of a player for my kid that is valid for longer than 3 years.

My stance is that it serves very little purpose to make the playoffs if you can't win it all. It only spoils draft position. I'm not for losing games on purpose, but I don't agree with Army's approach of "staying competitive by trading away draft choices". Others disagreed saying that 2025 is 2019 all over again. Others said that getting in the playoffs is so wonderful, not matter how much we get blown out.
Today we heard from Army himself that he sees no repeat of 2019. Essentially, the Blues will be participating in the playoffs just to say that we did.

I can't take it anymore. I'm so sick of Army.
Further, it is impossible to have any sort of intelligent discussion on here.
Too many people here don't see things the way that I do, so I'll just hang with the people that do elsewhere.

Goodbye and go Blues

I may be back after Army is gone, but I doubt it.

ASOGG checking out.

It was a Kyrou moment for me. Sometimes, it hard to return to the dirty ice, day after day, shift after shift. However, my Schenn nature comes out soon enough.

So I'm back on the ice, hitting Army's bad ideas without abandon.

Yeah it sucks the Blues basically (upset) away Game 1 and Game 7...Blues just didn't want it bad enough and Army didn't feel the Blues needed to fix problems that were on full display the entire season. Again, Blues were a .500 club with .500 club problems that had a 12 game winning streak, then reverted back to a .500 club with .500 club problems.

Who was the GM supposed to acquire to ensure a team didn't blow a 2 goal lead with under 2 minutes left?

It is a shame that Holloway suffered a serious injury, so he could not be on the ice to help the Blues win that series. Even Broberg's and Fowler's respective league-leading statistical defensive playing and Team playoff record setting during that playoff series was not enough.
The good news: The Blues future is bright with money in the bank to improve in weak areas and a proven Big Game goalie onboard, and a broad pool of good looking prospects in the system.

Kinda sounds familiar.
Though "wanting it"
Wasn't in on the decision to play a style that catered towards bottom six players and misplace our top scorers. What made that decision worse was our guys didn't have the stamina to play that game.

Given that the problem arose in the regular season often enough, I'd say that Army should have drafted someone to fix that problem about 3 years ago, 2021-ish. Can somebody call Perunovich and ask him if that was his job?

If they had Broberg and Holloway then Edmonton would already be in round 4 waiting for their opponent....

Falling backwards into two generational players had nothing to do with it, huh?

For my part, it's not easy being Schenn.

For your part, maybe wish away Army's bad roster hires as much as you do me.

What?

Also, what is your obsession with Perunovich?
