A game for the ages?
What a game. Tell me they are not good.

Re: A game for the ages?
Truly has been a great game.
Winn is currently the highest OPS player among the non Ivan Herrera Cardinals.
Who saw that coming after his 0 for start?
3 Cardinals other than Herrera have an OPS above .800 now. Winn, Donovan, and Noot.

Re: A game for the ages?
Just the ability to come back from a disappointing loss in 1st game of DH and down 5-1… to give Philly a butt whipping.

Re: A game for the ages?
I am asking myself, surprisingly, "Is this a good baseball team?"
We shall see.
We shall see.

pretty impressive
Re: A game for the ages?
They were good in Game 2. Not so much in Game 1.

But yeah, they are surprising a lot of people right now.
Gray's start, however, was just awful tonight. Luckily, Nolo Contendere said "hold my beer."
And the pen was superb. Even the afterthoughts.

They were good in game 1 as well. Going against a top pitcher, and holding the Phils to 2 runs in that stadium is something. Cards were good. Their pitcher was just a little better
Re: A game for the ages?
I was mainly referring to the four consecutive strikeouts to end the game. Including three against a guy with an ERA of over 8. I also was mainly joking.RamFan08NY wrote: ↑15 May 2025 00:04 amThey were good in game 1 as well. Going against a top pitcher, and holding the Phils to 2 runs in that stadium is something. I feel like cards of earlier this year (and last few years) get swept in this DH. Nice to see them not on bounce back in game 2 for the win, but also in the actual game. How often do the cards come back like that? Great to see. It's fun and just trying to enjoy it

Re: A game for the ages?
I hope that Winn can sustain his very good OPS. An ~.840 OPS Winn is a superstar. If he has a few career type .900 OPS seasons he could Winn an MVP or two. But, don't want to get the cart before the horse. The skies the limit with the kid. Wish his buddy Walker could get some of the mojo.

Re: A game for the ages?
When folks were making out mock lineups before game one mine had him hitting 3rd based on his situational hitting last season and how he finished the season.
Oli would never do it but I believe Donovan would be better suited second then Winn with Hererra cleanup.
