My guess has been Oregon, but this late visit to Georgia may be significant. Just hope it's not Miami. Who in their right mind would want to play football in south Florida?

I believe you're misjudging this kid. He's going to get similar money no matter where he goes. I'm sure he understands that a few dollars now is less important than an affinity for the coaches, the chances for winning a national title and how his choice aligns with his other priorities. His father's a professional athlete and his mother's a banker. They all know in a few years, barring injury, he'll be making $100,000 per WEEK. This isn't a bidding war, at least not with dollars.

Rivals national recruiting director Adam Gorney on Cantwell:
Adam Gorney
@adamgorney
On the Jackson Cantwell front:
1. Either Miami is a legit contender again or;
2. Georgia is the clear frontrunner and Miami buzz is building to make Tuesday more interesting.
Still trying to figure out which is true.

Who cares?! One lineman on a football team doesn't mean squat. And he's totally unproven in college ball.
Williams Nwaneri comes to mind. Non-factor.

Re: Any new information on Cantwell?
Here's a little quiz:
These players all had a common teammate:
Eddie George - Heisman Trophy winner
Kurt Warner - NFL MVP
Kurt Warner - NFL MVP
Marshall Faulk - NFL MVP
Who was the teammate they all had in common?
By the way, Nwaneri had very, very little playing time. His impact has yet to be determined.

If you haven't noticed that JW is just punking Mizzou fans for missing out on Cantwell, then you are not very bright.

Re: Any new information on Cantwell?
Mistake in my opinion. Besides having to practice in a jungle, he'll be playing against lesser competition. See ya in the transfer portal in a year.
Re: Any new information on Cantwell?
Right were he belongs in the ACC. Now forget him.
Re: Any new information on Cantwell?
After he had nothing but the Big Brand, Big money schools on his list totally lost interest. Still just a HS kid much rather have Eli's approach of getting proven CFB experience at a reasonable cost. Have seen lots o HS 5 stars not be what their potential thought they would be.
Do you blame him? heck no, just taking advantage of the system in place now. plus he is going to a place with two STUD 5 star tackles already in place plus a bunch of 4 star Oline talent. could be a struggle to find starting spot and snaps for a year or two.
BTW nwaneri? was a example of someone who was 5 star and one of top recruits in that cycle but even on Tigers who were thin in DE room he couldn't get any pt. He might eventually turn into a real stud or not. we shall keep an eye on that one out of curiosity. he got paid bigtime to come to como and then even bigger to go to a desperate Big Dead squad.
Personally give me the big tackle from Eureka. We shall see how they both fare in college.

With the rules being what they are my focus is 99% on the QB.
Without very good to elite QB play you aren't going anywhere I don't care how many Cantwell's you have.
Let's move on.

I'm certainly not criticizing the kid for taking the money. But apparently Miami pulled the checkbook out to the tune of $2.5 MM per year vs Georgia's $1.25 MM. So yeah, follow the money.edwin drood wrote: ↑12 May 2025 14:35 pmI believe you're misjudging this kid. He's going to get similar money no matter where he goes.
