+1 and when you consider Herrera hits right handers much better than burly the need for a DH platoon is unnecessary and burlys spot should go to someone who can play the fieldMonsieur De Treville wrote: ↑13 May 2025 09:43 amNo, many CT posters don't care if Oli has tremendous respect for Burly. Again, he's a one-tool player and that one tool isn't very good.Shady wrote: ↑13 May 2025 09:21 amI'm not sure what role Burleson will play for the remainder of the season. But he's not the player to send down. Many CT posters still don't understand that Oli has tremendous respect for Burly. Burleson hasn't hit to his capabilities this season, as yet. But he will get some key hits to help win some games. The Cardinals know that.
And what exactly are the "capabilities" of a hitter with well over 1,000 MLB at bats who has a career .704 OPS and 94 OPS+? These numbers would indicate his ceiling is average to slightly below average "capabilities".

Re: Herrera to cleanup, bring Saggese up
He could easily spell:
-NADO once a week at 3rd
-Winn once a week at SS
-2 or 3 games a week at 2nd (if you play Donovan in LF and sit Walker twice a week)
-And pinch hit
That could give him 20 AB's a week that are worth way more to his growth than getting 24 at Memphis.
I'd bring him up after Memorial Day, sending Gorman down if he's still struggling.

Your entire “act” is to promote prospects that you have zero knowledge of.
You must have a dartboard at home with names on it?
Not feeling it with Gangbanger.
Definitely not Nitwit.
Maybe we can trade off names periodically?
Re: Herrera to cleanup, bring Saggese up
Very good analysis of how Saggese could be utilized. Both Gorman and Walker could use more time trying to improve their hitting at somewhere other than for a MLB team in the divisional race. And Herrera at cleanup for this team is inevitable. Or Contreras at 4 and Herrera at 5.rockondlouie wrote: ↑13 May 2025 11:19 amHe could easily spell:

Agree on Hererra belonging at either cleanup or 5th, NADO at 6th.

The way things are shaping up, it would make sense for Saggese to be as much a part of the "reset" as Gorman and Walker.rockondlouie wrote: ↑13 May 2025 12:02 pmThxShady wrote: ↑13 May 2025 11:36 amVery good analysis of how Saggese could be utilized. Agree on Hererra belonging at either cleanup or 5th, NADO at 6th.
But they were #1 picks and each had a solid 2023 season, these will buy them more time.
I'd send Gorman down after Memorial Day if he's still struggling given he has no position now w/Hererra the better DH option and Donovan handling 2nd base as long as they want to give Walker AB's (and they do).
Then bring up Saggese and play him as suggested above.
At his age NADO needs a full game off a week and Winn's back could also use a game a week to rest.
If Walker's still struggling, then Donny goes to LF and Saggese could get a lot of playing time at 2nd base as long as he hits.

And if Walker keeps struggling, then you move Donny to LF (Noot to RF) and Saggese gets 2nd base as long as he hits!Cusecards wrote: ↑13 May 2025 12:38 pmCould happenrockondlouie wrote: ↑13 May 2025 11:19 amHe could easily spell:

It all depends on how Gorman does.
If he's still flailing come Memorial Day, then you have to send him down and bring up Saggese.

There is some dynamic here with Saggese, Donovan, and Barrero as long asShady wrote: ↑13 May 2025 11:36 amVery good analysis of how Saggese could be utilized. One of Gorman and Walker are given rope. Definitely with both getting it.
Saggese moves Donovan to the 3rd OFer IMO, while Barrero is more neutral, a bench guy. Donovan moves back and forth
and essentially spells either Walker or Gorman. One usually is being benched.
Until the FO chooses a horse. Saggese is likely to stay in Memphis. Which isn't terrible, just not ideal.
No reason currently to give BD a day off for either of these players.
The Cardinals record and if struggles continue to Memorial Day will influence this.
