Fools Gold or has he figured something out?
Well... he's not this good, so I'll go Fools Gold.

I think he can be a serviceable big league reliever... but he's not THIS.

Yeah, I think it is probably somewhere in the middle. The problem is that the middle ground for Leahy is pretty vast.

524 IP in the minors and a 5.51/1.60
75 IP in the majors and a 3.48/1.00

And then in 24 IP this year he goes 1.09/0.65

Where is the middle?

Locked on Cardinals said last night Leahy came out of nowhere, but after many years has started to blossom.

He’s been fine, but that .121 BABIP-against and .184 wOBA vs .306 xwOBA are unlikely to last.

That said, he’s still been decent (3.43 FIP) even adjusting for batted-ball noise.

I think he can be at least a 3.50 pitcher maybe a little better and that’s good but he does have good stuff so who knows

17th round pick with underwhelming numbers in the minors.

But the Cards' brass saw something in his arm because they kinda rushed him to the show despite not producing desirable results.

-5 pitches
-high velocity
-can locate all of them

More like a diamond in the rough than foolsgood...
ERAs and WHIPs coming through the system -

AAA - 5.71 / 1.617
AA - 6.28 / 1.738
A+ - 6.30 / 1.833

Don’t know what happened, but hope it continues.
Yeah it just goes to show that minor league numbers don't mean everything. Career Minor league ERA of 5.51.

If they don't ease up on his usage he may not pitch much in any capacity next year. He is on pace for 73 appearances.
